I recall posting in his thread on Multiple Myeloma but it still seems like an awfully premature loss. Rest in peace indeed, DD.

While I doubt they're likely to read this, my heart sincerely goes out to DD's family and loved ones. :(

Condolences.

We are all getting older. That may be a weakness but who the heck expects to live forever?

Many of us have been here since GG, sharing our love of gaming (and Anything But Gaming); the differences we've had are well-expressed and, imo, well-tolerated in many cases.

This is a great community. We are honoured to have had so many participate and contribute. I am so thankful to have seen the camaraderie, the division and the strife. Carry on OO, GG and all the best with thanks to you, DD.
So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

Rest in Peace, DD*

RIP DD*

Thanks for hanging with us in this little Oasis in the internet. Rest well, go in peace.

Very sad the cancer caught up, it seemed like the recovery was going amazingly well. Condolences to the family and daughter.

Cancer sucks. I wish DDs family well in dealing with their loss. I never met him in person but had a lot of positive interactions with him.

We should have a wall or memorial of some kind for those we've lost in OO, and those we've loved and lost.

Fuck.

Can we please go back to when all of you were posting about new wives (well out of your/our league) and adorable children?

RIP my friend.

Late to the thread but it feels odd in a way to lose a fellow OOer. I feel like everyone here exists upside of time, though the past year or so has disproven that quite well. RIP, DD*.

We lose too many more to it, we should just change our forum name to Fuck Cancer.

I can't put any posts to the name but I do remember the DD name. I am sorry to hear about his death.

I knew a guy (only online) for a few years who ran a fantasy football league I was in. He was the commissioner and collected the money so I knew his real name, I even knew where he lived. One spring after the season I got an e-mail from someone else in the league saying he had died from a massive heart attack. It included the obit and I recognized the name and city. He was young, had 2 small kids and was actually in pretty good shape. I couldn't help but feel bad for his family, people I had never met and basically knew nothing about. You can be friends with someone you meet online.
