The country has only 20 kilometres (12.4 mi) of coastline, around the town of Neum in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, although surrounded by Croatian peninsulas it is possible to get to the middle of the Adriatic from Neum. By United Nations law, Bosnia has a right of passage to the outer sea. Neum has many hotels and is an important tourism destination.

There are plans to build a real seaport, rail and a motorway and thus the Croatian bridge must have a high clearance according to the view of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today the main freight port for Bosnia and Herzegovina is Ploče (in Croatia) further north, which has a railway to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Croatia didn't exist in WWII. Yugoslavia did, however, and it was occupied by Germany. But it had the Partisans.

It may not have been recognized by the Allies but it did exist. Germany made it. I'm sure the partizans were very effective as they were in all of Yugoslavia.

I used to have a Croatian minion. He had no indoor voice, and his name became a euphemism for an enterprise-affecting fuck-up when he did an "add all" and installed a logistics routing software package on about 10,000 PCs in the western half of the country. He didn't get fired for that, but when we sold off a large portion of our logistics unit, including the building he was working, my boss included him in the sale.
