Listening to the mayoral inauguration and they had someone lead the pledge and he started, "I pledge of allegiance to the flag..."
I chuckled but then I thought about it and I hear that a lot. Does the name, "The Pledge of Allegiance" confuse people? If so, do they not think about what they're saying?
Not offended, it just got me thinking. To my ear it sounds like a Rickyism but I guess it's common.
