The first one that comes to mind is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. First 10-15 minutes were interesting. After that it pretty much felt like the same thing over and over. Watched that with my brother and his wife at their house.
The second one that comes to mind is the first Jackass movie. Watched that with a friend at his house. I figure he still owes me 2 hours of my life back. What a complete disaster.

Seems like the only ones that I finished were those I watched with other people. Which hopefully means I'm capable of turning crap off if I'm in control. :D

P.S. Oh, and hopefully I don't have to actually explain those two.

Battlefield Earth comes to mind first, I so loved the book and wanted the movie to have some redeeming quality, alas it did not.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Saw it in the theater. Never occurred to me to get up and leave, but I would have been better for it.

There Will Be Blood. I am a huge Daniel Day Lewis fan but not a clue what this movie was trying to state.

Herbie Fully Loaded (2005).
I had the privilege to watch this with my nephews.
My wife got out of it by volunteering to help grandma learn how to check email, check the Cubs schedule, and do Ebay.
They didn't actually get all that far by the time the movie was over. If I understand correctly, there was some confusion on what 'click' vs. 'double click' meant.
Still, sounds like they had a blast in comparison.

The Crappening.

I still have to rewatch it someday to see if it was bad as I remember it being.

There is a difference between worst film and most disappointing film. The worst film could be bad because of poor writing, acting, directing, etc. The most disappointing film makes just makes you angry.

Worst film - Probably Battlefield Earth. It's terrible on every level, however it was somewhat fun to watch as you could revel in its awfulness.

Most disappointing film - Three-way tie
The Lost World: Jurassic Park - I was not a big fan of the first movie. It was a horror movie with dinosaurs instead of a guy in a hockey mask. However I thought Spielberg would give me something somewhat entertaining in the sequel. I have never wanted a movie to end as badly as I wanted that one to end. I was so pissed at every choice they made. It was possibly my worst theater-going experience eve.

Prometheus - The trailer might have been the best I've ever seen. Plus Ridley Scott was back behind the camera and that man has amazing potential. What we got was a complete mess.

Star Trek Into Darkness - This was the movie where I officially gave up on Star Trek. After this I was done. Just done. F#$% them for even making that movie and turning Star Trek into mindless Michael Bay action nonsense.

Hmm. My brain just reminded me that I sat through the entirety of 1997's Gone Fishin'. Starring Joe Pesci and Danny Glover as dumb fishing buddies with too obvious to be funny "jokes" and a formulaic plot.

It stars Mark Wahlberg. One of the few actors who could play themselves in a biography and still be told they weren't believable in the role. Why in God's name would you need to watch it again? Do you hate yourself?

I just remembered The Lady in the Water. I might have to add that one. That might be the only time I've watched a movie and thought that I wouldn't like the writer/director as a person.

It wasn't over but I had finished watching that horrid thing 10 minutes in at most.

In theaters there is a two-way tie: Striptease and Armageddon.

I've seen too many crappy movies at home to remember them all.

Lots of films I loved in this thread. Wong Foo and Starship Troopers come to mind (but I thought the Starship Troopers novel was awful, so that balances things out.)

For me, though? Dungeons & Dragons. Everything about it was awful.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation - I will defend the original Mortal Kombat as a dumb but entertaining movie but even as a kid I knew the sequel was completely garbage. I've only seen a few scenes from it as an adult but it is laughably bad.

Highlander II - Just what?

Battlefield Earth - To be fair I don't really remember much of what happens in this movie but it was bad, and what makes it even worse than the two above, it also managed to be boring. A bad movie should at-least have the courtesy to be so bad it's kind of funny to watch.

many bad films were seen as a kid, but i would like to call out The Wizard (aka feature length Nintendo advertisement starring Fred Savage) for particular abuse.

as an adult.. i think anything Kevin Smith made after Clerks qualifies. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was a pile of Trump-level garbage, but Zack and Miri Make A Porno made me want to see the director end up in hospital from a savage beating delivered by crowbar and aluminum baseball bat.

I only sit through a bad movie to the bitter end if it's short and might redeem itself.

Most recently, that was The Beach Bum, a stoner comedy that managed to be crude and offensive without ever breaking thru to funny. What little plot it had was stupid and the characters were all unlikable. Really a pointless movie.

Oh.... I mostly manage to forget that there were Highlander "sequels". The second one was bad. But... seriously, has Mario Van Peebles ever been in a good movie? Whoops... just looked it up. That was the 3rd one. So, yeah, the 2nd one was really bad. I don't think I ever even figured out what it was about.

I'd add in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover, but I never watched the entire thing. It showed at the theater I worked at in college. I saw a lot of the scenes, but never the whole thing. What I saw was enough to know that I'd probably have walked out/turned it off. So it doesn't really count here. I can say that a LOT of people walked out of that movie. Probably not half, but at times it felt like it.

I haven't seen Soldier in years. I need to watch that one again.

Con Air.... oof. That's tough. I like a lot of things about that movie. But it is really tough to watch. I want to rupture my eardrums every time Cage speaks with that horrible accent; and stab my eyes every time I have to look at his horrible hairdo. :P

This was freshman year in college that it came out. It has a ton of nudity in it. I fell asleep before the ending.

Most movies that I've hated badly, I've either walked out of the theater or turned off the television before finishing.

The first one I can remember walking out of was Andy Warhol's Bad back in the late 80s. It was playing at the university theater as part of some art house festival. When they tossed a baby out of a window
Spoiler:
and then a dog licked up the remains
I pretty much rocketed out the door. I still consider that to be the pinnacle of community school art teachers believing themselves avant garde pioneers of creativity, while being unable to tell the difference between a Van Gogh and Van Wilder.

Other than that, I'm not a fan of High Fidelity, Gus Van Sant's shot for shot remake of Psycho (why?), anything by Vincent Gallo, and Jacob's Ladder (Issie knows why. I've harped on it enough around here.).

I just felt bad that I wasn't also congratulating the cast on their musical taste throughout the entirety of the film.

Rarely does a film pat itself on its back so much that the cast has to see a chiropractor after each scene.

They're all kinda crappy people. And I didn't revel in their musical tastes either. I certainly haven't documented and made playlists of every piece of music they listened to.

I mean, the whole thing is summed up in the clip with Alex Désert.
