I nearly walked out on Natural Born Killers, but decided to stick it out, which is good because I ended up loving it.

Worst movie I ever actually sat through... Probably one of the star wars prequels... I am thinking Attack of the Clones. I would have to watch them again to be sure and that is simply not going to happen. Part of this may be disappointment rather than being objectively bad. The expectations after the long wait were sky high and wow were they crushed.

Two movies I can think of is one starring Ashley Judd titled The Locusts. Horrible movie. The other is one featuring Kevin Costner called Revenge. That movie honestly made me angry.

I was thinking of some titles but most of them didn't count, in my opinion, because they were kids' movies or low budget or some other thing that might account for how terrible they were.

Then I read your post. I agree, that's the worst 'real' movie, with a budget and stars and everything, that I watched in its entirety during its first run in a theater where I had to pay for tickets full price not a matinee.

For me there's two categories of worst, there's worst that most everyone else in the world would say is the worst, and there's worst that I think are worst because I have a hard time watching them, for whatever reason I find at the time watching them.

I have a hard time watching movies where there's a child that's been abused, murdered, or is going through some kind of bad ordeal. Here's my examples -

The Pursuit of Happyness - I have a hard time getting through this one from start to finish. The thing about the main guy, will smith's character trying so hard to keep it together while basically homeless and dragging his kid around everywhere with him, man this one's rough for me. I don't consider the movie in a worst category, just it's worst for me because I don't have a fondness for seeing people with kids suffer in a movie, or real life.

Prisoners - I don't think I've seen this one from start to finish, Hugh Jackman and his child is missing. I have seen the ending, THAT was a real bummer.

WORST IN A MOVIE THEATER - Wild Wild West - this was the first movie that my wife pleaded with me to get up so we could leave before the movie was even half way over. We stayed. If you've seen this one you already know why it sucked.

Eyes Wide Shut - this was the second movie that my wife pleaded with me to get up so we could leave before the movie was even half way over. We stayed. I like this one, she HATES this one. She will to this day refuse to be in the room if I'm watching this if it's on hbo/showtime/cinemax.

I really don't like movies that are musicals. If it was on broadway, and they turned it into a movie I pretty much think it's the worst.

I can't really think of any movie that would be THE #1 WORST film that I finished watching.

IF you forced me into it, it would be any of those "human centipede" movies. Just disgusting, no doubt about it. Any movie that has humans shitting in any human's mouth, yeah...that's pretty much THE WORST kind of thing I don't wanna see, ever.

Probably Lynch's Dune. Yet I still watch the damn thing when I come across it, wishing it to be better.

These days crappy movies lead to checking your cell phone, getting involved in Facebook or some other thing and before you know it, movie is over and you don't know or care what happened.

I actually liked both of those movies. I had to review the Wild Wild West computer game for Computer Games Magazine and thought that was ok too Now, I loved the original TV series, but I really like about everything Will Smith does so while it was an odd casting choice, I just rolled with it.

Let's just say Eyes Wide Shut is my kind of movie.

I really like musicals of all kinds, but then again, I'm also a huge opera fan and probably saw 100 or more different operas over the years. The one I most want to see again is the one that likely got me turned on to the genre...Man of La Mancha. I haven't seen it since I was a teenager, but I nevertheless owned it on VHS and DVD. Just never watched it again.

Hope Floats starring Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr.

Moat_Woman and I were dating at the time. The movie was so bad that I almost broke up with her after watching it. That's an inside joke we still at laugh at to this day. (She hated it too, thankfully)

I never, in a million years, would have expected JeffV to be a fan of awful science fiction. Wild Wild West, I Robot, Bright, I Am Legend....I will definitely take any movie suggestion you make in the future with a giant grain of salt. :P

Since forever, most science fiction tends to be awful. That doesn't mean an actor can't put on an enjoyable performance.

For me it's Lost Highway by David Lynch, had to watch it twice because one of my friend think it's a piece of genius.
And he kept telling me i hated it because i didn't "get it". Oh i do "get it" it's a total awful piece of crap.

Either this or the movie version of Pink Floyd's the wall.

I don't know that either of them really qualify as "the worst film," I tend to like anything in front of me, but they both rate really high on the most disappointing film list because I had such high expectations for them. Movie versions of Dune tend to make me remember Herbert's prose fondly which is really quite a trick.

Oh. And Man of La Mancha? really? ouch. I guess your tastes had no where to go but up!:)

Moulin Rouge, wait, I don't think I spelled that properly.

It was too nausea inducing to watch, and too noisy to sleep through. But for reasons I don't remember, I stayed in my seat for the whole film.
I think this one came out in the early days of shaky-cam, and it really really bothered me.

I've been thinking a bit and I believe my candidate pool is down to Crossroads, Glitter, and Chicago.

I think Glitter wins the prize. We did it to ourselves by having a Bad Movie Weekend, but even still this exceeded my expectations.

I don't know that it's the worst movie I've ever finished, but I have a special animosity for Men in Tights, which I almost walked out on (and would have if others weren't there with me). Mel Brooks just recycled a bunch of jokes from other, better movies and made the whole thing terrible.

I find it odd that people are reference something called Highlander II when no such movie was ever made.

"Men in Tights" gets quoted a lot around the Skinypupy household. The Mrs. and I both find it hilarious, even if it is overly corny.

I hear the 280 minute (4h40m) director's cut really ties it all together.

Historical attention to detail was great. If you're into the minutiae, the various regimental uniforms and weaponry and insignia were spot-on, or so I read. And the battle scenes were good. Pretty sure Stonewall didn't really have a happy slave friend, though.

This was ON late last night on the STARZ channel. I had to watch it again, I've seen it 3-4 times, I even dvr'd it.

It has to be one of the weirdest, freakiest movies ever made.

Still don't know how the weird character played by Robert Blake tells Bill Pullman that he's at his house, he hands him his phone and
say's call your house, and he answers it, saying "I told you I was at your house, now hand me back my phone". How one person can be two places
at the same time I still to this day don't know what David Lynch was thinking...

This movie has a creepy factor all over it, one of the highlight's was seeing Twiggy Ramirez and Marilyn Manson in the black n' white porno film
and blood get's splashed all over the woman's face.

I wouldn't say it's in the worst category for me, but it definitely tweeks the creepy factor by 100+.

IF you've never seen it, at least see it one time from start to finish. Which Arquette sister was that? Sh'e smoking HOT in it.

David Lynch always had a good eye for casting the female roles in his projects. It depends on the material of course, but look at Twin Peaks and Mulholland Dr. It's like he had a psychic connection to me when he picked those actresses "Sherilyn Fenn, uh I dunno...wait, gameoverman says yes please".

I hear this one a lot but I think Attack of the Clones is so much worse. I feel like people remember the cool battle at the end of the movie and somehow skip over everything that happens in the movie up till that point.

Sweet Jesus, that was a bad movie. Stephen Lang did a really fantastic job, but he couldn't save that turd. If the soldiers involved in that war had known that they would be portrayed in such a terrible film, that war might never have happened.

My wife and I did walk out of it. Just didn't care for it at all.

Worst movie I watched in the theatre was Titanic.
Worst movie I watched at home was Mystery Men (I also hated Zoolander but never watched more than a few minutes).
Most boring movie tie: There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men
Worst movie that started out great: Event Horizon
Worst movie that you knew was going to be bad from the start: Zombeavers

Startship Troopers is supposed to be bad. It's not in any way a good movie.
Jackass was hilarious but if you don't like that kind of humor you certainly won't like the movie. You probably also hate puppies.

Honorable mention goes to The Room, which I knew going in was considered the worst movie of all time. It's not even good in a campy way. Bad script, acting, camerawork, soundtrack -- you name it, The Room got it all wrong. I liked The Disaster Artist, though, and even considered sitting through The Room again after seeing that.
