Does anyone actually know how to speak to a person at the IRS? I only get a automated thing when I call. It says there are limited people to talk to but I can find no way to get someone.

But wait, that's not all! As an added bonus you'll get to talk to a live person at the FBI, ATF, and possibly even the IRS-CI!

Or try this:
The IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040, and they are available from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The best time to call is early in the morning.
The first question the automated system will ask you is to choose your language.
Once you’ve set your language, do NOT choose Option 1 (regarding refund info). Choose option 2 for “Personal Income Tax” instead.
Next, press 1 for “form, tax history, or payment”.
Next, press 3 “for all other questions.”
Next, press 2 “for all other questions.”
When the system asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, do NOT enter anything.
After it asks twice, you will be prompted with another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Finally, press 4 for all other inquiries. The system should then transfer you to an agent.

Sadly even people who are directed to call the IRS spend hours waiting for an open line. That has been one of the largest hiring areas within the IRS in the last couple years, but I have also heard that people burn out at the job very quickly.

Now when i try to check online it says...

Please Try Again Later

We are unable to provide you with the status of your payment or perform the action requested because:

The tax return information you entered does not match our records; or
You have already accessed the system the maximum number of times today.

Please come back after 24 hours and try again.

Before it told me info unavailable. Now I try 3 times because it keeps telling me my info doesn't match. Yet its the same info as always. After 3 tries I get that error. FUCK.

We finally got our check in the mail last Friday.
Used most of it to pay down a credit card.

Check arrived in Atlanta.

We'll be buying a few things via Amazon to have shipped here this summer so I guess you could say we will be stimulating. Actually having the check in hand means buying a new computer doesn't feel as bad but it was bought locally so it is stimulating Korea and China for the most part.

Mine was in the bank today! I now have $1,203.94. I guess the rumor I read of the 28th being right although I thought it would be the mail. Happy its the bank. FINALLY. Id had only a few dollars to last me two weeks. Now I can buy the medicine for my dog, get his snacks, buy the wrench I need to get my lawnmower blade off so I can sharpen it so I can mow, have the car oil changed and the brake bulb replaced so I dont get a ticket, pay back my pharmacy bill and a few little items I have needed a while. The rest and the big bulk of it...85% and more if I can squeeze it will go into my taxes and savings for help days. I always need a little more than I have and it will be that way until I pay the house off. So now I can for sure pay the property taxes.

Ill be honest I was not expecting it.

I thought you'd been expecting it for three months. I mean you were going down to the IRS with a loaded gun and everything!

I felt hopeless its true. No info, no one to call, online never worked. I really thought I was screwed and I needed it SO badly. Its like a weight is really gone. I keep rechecking my banks site to be sure its still there.

Congrats. I don't know why some of us were so late getting the money but I am happy for you that it finally came.
