Nope. Cubs have come out and denied any knowledge of his actions.

This article seems to imply that the Cubs knew about what he was doing. But frankly that doesn't make much sense to me. There's just no reason for them to protect him, all she has to do is show the texts and he and they are basically DOA. Even in 2016 to allow an employee to harrass is opening yourself up to a huge lawsuit, plus a ton of fan and public condemnation.

I haven't put a name on the back of my jerseys since Lou Whittaker but that will probably change next year when I pick up a 7 Anderson.
It wasn’t until the next day, however, that Whitaker and Trammell turned the first of the 1,300 or so double plays they pulled off together, a Major League record. Jason Thompson was their first baseman the first time — through the years their first basemen would include Richie Hebner, Enos Cabell, Dave Bergman, Darrell Evans, Ray Knight and Cecil Fielder among others. But Thompson was their first at first, and I always felt they deserve their own poem along the lines of “Tinkers to Evers to Chance.”

A runner on first is a-pacin’
He is in need of erasin’
It’s time for two
Alan to Lou
Trammel to Whitaker to Jason

Now that Trammell is in the Hall of Fame, it seems plainly ridiculous that Whitaker is not. It was ridiculous before Tram was elected — beyond ridiculous that he received just 15 votes his one year on the ballot even though he had the highest WAR of any position player on the ballot, including Dave Winfield and Kirby Puckett, who were elected first ballot.

...

But he was always really good, always played at an All-Star level, and when you play 15 years at an All-Star level you are a Hall of Famer in my view. Again using Baseball-Reference WAR because it’s the easiest tool to filter, here are the players with 15 or more seasons with 3.5 WAR.

20 seasons: Barry Bonds
19 seasons: Henry Aaron, Tris Speaker, Ty Cobb
18 seasons: Willie Mays
17 seasons: Stan Musial, Mel Ott, Eddie Collins
16 seasons: Alex Rodriguez, Frank Robinson, Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner
15 seasons: Rickey Henderson, Ted Williams, Rogers Hornsby, Nap Lajoie, Lou Whitaker.

Yeah, that's not good. The Cubs have apparently signed Joc Pederson. He's more or less a wash with the departed Kyle Schwarber offensively, but he's a better defender. Schwarbs signed for 1 year, $10M with the Nats, while the Cubs got Pederson for 1 year, $7M, so yay? Still, if that's their biggest acquisition (and I'm thinking it's going to be), and with speculation still around that Kris Bryant will be traded, it's not going to be a fun summer on the North Side.

It's always consensual from the man's point of view
Callaway, former manager of the New York Mets, sent uninvited and sometimes unanswered messages to the women via email, text or social media and asked one to send nude photos in return, according to the report. He often commented on their appearance in a way that made them uncomfortable and on one occasion “thrust his crotch near the face of a reporter” while she interviewed him, the Athletic said.
Calloway:
Any relationship in which I was engaged has been consensual, and my conduct was in no way intended to be disrespectful to any women involved. I am married and my wife has been made aware of these general allegations.”

I think what he is trying to say is "I discussed what I did with an actual woman and, on behalf of women everywhere, she declined to object. Therefore what I did was objectively ok."

Dodgers threw stupid money at Bauer. I must say I'm relieved that he's not going to the Mets. Way too much if a distraction and WAY overpriced.

One would think that the Dodgers current rotation (assuming David Price) would have sufficed but I guess not. And the Dodgers still don’t have a seasoned third baseman.

By paying for Bauer to Dodgers avoid playing against him. Plus Price is not getting any younger and is coming off a non-season that may again be pandemic filled.

Guardian
A minor league baseball player is facing drug charges after police in Colorado found 21lbs of methamphetamine and 1.2lbs of oxycodone pills in his Chicago Cubs duffel bag.

The Vail Daily reports Jesus Camargo-Corrales, 25, of Tempe, Arizona, appeared in Eagle County Court on Thursday on charges including unlawful distribution of methamphetamine and oxycodone, both class 1 drug felonies, as well as charges of unlawful possession of each drug, both class 4 drug felonies.
...
Camargo-Corrales was stopped on Interstate 70 in a silver BMW Wednesday morning near the ritzy ski area of Vail, Colorado after an Eagle County sheriff’s deputy saw the car speeding and drifting lanes, according to the arrest affidavit.
...
Camargo-Corrales told police he was going to Denver to teach a kids baseball clinic and claimed there were no drugs because he said he followed the Chicago Cubs’ anti-doping policy.

But police said a K-9 named Zane alerted authorities to the car’s rear wheel well and the back seat and Camargo-Corrales gave permission to a police search of the vehicle.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

IANAFL but that's probably not your best option when carrying around 25 lbs of drugs.

On occasion the police are not fully thorough about ensuring affirmative consent on this sort of thing.

Season starts in less than a week, and there will be fans in the stands for Dodger games, maybe even 33% capacity. I won't be one of them, I'll wait til next season when I can get discounted seats again.

Seems like the Mets as always might get screwed on the Lindor trade. We already lost the pitcher to I jury and Lindor is turning down offers and asking for crazy amounts. I think there's a good chance he's one and done in NY. Well for the Mets at least. He turned down 325 for 10 years.

He wants 12 years which is ridiculous as he's already 27. Sigh

Ya well he saw what Tatis got and wanted some of that action. I'm willing to bet he would have taken the offer if that hadn't already taken place. I'm pretty sure he should be able to get by with 32 million a year. If he wanted to sour himself on NY sports fans he's doing a bang up job. :P
