The FAA just authorized drones to fly 'over people'. Kind of a vague statement as most regulations are, but basically you can now fly your drone over people outside assuming you have your drone equipped with a new Remote ID which as the article states is basically a digital license plate. I don't know if this is available retroactively to fit to existing drones. But This clears the way for the Amazons of the world to start drone deliveries which we all know isn't exactly around the corner, but it is coming. Given how many packages my house alone gets in a week, it's kind of sobering to think about thousands of drones flying around in the moderately distant future.
Anyone more clued into the drone scene have a better take on this? I have a drone but outside of a spin around the block with the kids and a vacation moment here or there, I'm not really an enthusiast.

by 'kind of sobering' you actually mean 'going to be really annoying and stupid'GungHo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 1:37 am https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN2921R8
