The guy's a free agent. If he ever plays again it will be for the USFL or some shit.

ESPN
Free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman, who earlier Friday said he was "deeply remorseful for my actions," has pleaded not guilty to five misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest at his in-laws' home northeast of Seattle earlier this week.

According to documents filed by the King County prosecuting attorney's office on Friday, the charges include two domestic violence counts -- criminal trespass in the second degree and malicious mischief in the third degree -- along with resisting arrest, driving while under the influence and reckless endangerment of roadway workers.
...
Sherman was arrested early Wednesday after police said he crashed his car in a construction zone along a busy highway east of Seattle and then tried to break into his in-laws' home in the suburb of Redmond, Washington. Raymond Moss told officers that he armed himself with a handgun and fired pepper spray as Sherman tried to bust in the door with his shoulder.

Officers were cautious about arresting Sherman because of his size, strength and belligerence, according to police reports released Thursday. Sherman displayed "severe mood swings and slurred speech, had bloodshot, watery eyes, and had the odor of intoxicants emitting from his person" during contact with authorities, according to the reports. Sherman told authorities there that he was upset over his children being taken from him, the reports said.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Sad to see Sherman fall apart. Seemed like a pretty smart guy. Looks like he also has his fair share of issues.

Wonder if this will spur any vaccination peer pressure.

Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero · 22m
The NFL just informed clubs that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week season in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will FORFEIT and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding, per sources.

Massive implications.

Teams appear to be getting rid of coaches who won't get the vaccine.

I don't get it. If you are or were a player in the NFL you've faced worse things. Everything from torn ligaments to staph infections, broken bones, and last but not least brain damage. Players have used drugs, including illegal ones where you don't know exactly what's in them. Players have played with and shot themselves with guns. Players have played with explosives and blown parts of themselves off with explosives. Players have hurt themselves by driving dangerously with cars and motorcycles.

Yet they are scared of a vaccine? I saw a quote from Elliot on the Cowboys where he said some people were raised by parents who wouldn't allow them to be vaccinated, and the parents would warn against vaccinations. Okay, but what does that have to do with adult men making their own decision? What's there even to decide? There are vaccines available, you're a pro football player, virus infections will shut down games...they are just acting willfully stupid for no reason by refusing.

I have no doubt Brady could hit the machine over and over again without an issue, but having to wedge the ball into the machine is what makes the throw go from ho hum to no way.

Yahoo
The Tim Tebow experiment in Jacksonville didn’t last long.

The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback turned sports broadcaster turned minor league baseball player turned long-shot NFL tight end project was cut on Tuesday, after just a single preseason game.

Jags trade Gardner Minshew to the Eagles for a sixth round draft pick. Seems like they would be better off with a reliable backup than a meaningless draft pick. It's not like he had an expensive contract.

Conquistador Method - there can be no QB controversy if there is no other viable candidate on the roster.

Kind of surprised, since I think the general expectation was that Newton would start the year as the starter, with Jones taking over partway through the season. I imagine the vaccine issue was a big problem (which makes sense). I wanted Cam to work since I've long liked him as a player, but this is probably for the best.
