[Netflix] Locke and Key
As a reminder, Season 2 starts next week (10/22). This new trailer is...interesting.

Do you feel like elaborating a bit on season 1? I'm no longer sure what I'm supposed to expect from that show.
Sims 3 and signature unclear.

Also, she chews popcorn loudly. But I've decided not to tell *her* that.

I unfortunately didn't really care for the first season. Which is a shame because I love Joe Hill and the comics. Something about it just didn't click for me.

Re: [Netflix] Locke and Key
We had a series of random discussions in the Netflix Exclusive series thread, but I'm trying to be the shepherd here with this dedicated thread.
I didn't read the graphic novel (but I was aware of it), so I can't comment really on how good of a job it does in terms of relating the source material to a TV series.
Without giving too much away, it's a story about a house that contains artifacts that impart special powers. I'd say the overall story is rooted in horror, but because the story focuses on kids and teens it has a vibe similar to (though not quite as heavy) as Stranger Things (though the source material predates that show by quite a few years).
This trailer is a bit weird with the movie premiere "fake out". Maybe the S1 trailer is better:

Man I had this huge Netflix gap and suddenly new seasons of everything are dropping all over the place and now I am drowning.
I am definitely in for this, but after You. No, not you Smoove, You the Netflix series. What a terrible name for a show!

Me either. I think I stopped watching after five or so episodes with no real desire to get back to it. It's a shame because the premise seemed fairly interesting.YellowKing wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 2:01 pm I unfortunately didn't really care for the first season. Re: [Netflix] Locke and Key
We enjoyed it enough as well. The tail end of s1 was a bit obvious in how it was going to end (and at times had us exclaiming how stupid they were being, and in our opinion it was deliberate writing of the stupidity into the characters just to setup s2), but overall the show was a lot of fun (but the ending felt a bit like the slasher GEICO commercial - let's hide behind these chainsaws!).
Black Lives definitely Matter Lorini!

Holy crap, you’re right. I did the math wrong. Born in 1971 means 50. Damn….I take it all back. She’s obviously got a portrait somewhere that looks 50.
As for the veracity of the internet, all I know is that Abe Vigoda may or may not have died in a waterskiing accident two years ago. Also, pop rocks and Coca Cola can be used as an explosive in a pinch.

I enjoyed the graphic novels very much, and sort of see the show as deliberately YA to attract a more sizeable audience. I had issues with the first season, but not enough to stop watching. I can't shake the idea that Connor Jessup is and has always been, a terrible, unlikable actor, but he kind of fits in this part.

Re: [Netflix] Locke and Key
i can highly recommend the comics/graphic novel series. the art is usually top-tier for the medium.
(worth noting there was a spin-off story done in the style of Bill Watterson:)
