After the summit, I want a montage of Kim and Trump going into a photo booth while giggling, riding a Ferris Wheel, and feeding each other french fries at a carnival. All set to music.

A nice Beach Boys sound would do nicely.

There's a limit to how much flab you can shove into Ferris Wheel car. I believe those two would far exceed it.

Trump just announced that the summit is officially back on for June 12th. He gave Kim a rose and Kim accepted. But will they consummate? Stay tuned for all the twists and turns in the next episode of "PLAYING WITH NUKES", coming to a twitter feed near you.

Trump is claiming HE didn't cancel the original summit in the first place.

Trump said it was “a very nice letter” that he received from Kim Jong-un but at the end of his conversation with reporters he said he had not yet opened it.

That's pretty much the definition of canceling the meeting, but of course, Trump has to go on his crusade of attacking the media at every turn.

So, I have not heard much on this - - but I've been seeing that NK has recently also had a summit with Russian. Additionally I read that they are having a summit with Bashar Assad (Syria)?

And then we have their summit with our President. (nausea inducing company)

What the hell kind of deals are hoped to be made right now from the point of view of NK.... Seems like NK is in a remarkably Reach Out mode. And Trump has a hard-on for this Nobel Peace Prize ("did someone say Prize" ?), so he will likely press for a "We made a great deal" outcome. I just recently saw a headline (didn't bother to click it) that the Dems would appose anything in NK that didn't do XWZ....

I guess I'm wondering outloud : Can they stop him (the few that would) from doing something really stupid with NK?

Kim has already won legitimacy by getting a meeting that NK's leaders have sought for two generations, and now other dictators want his ear. Kim is playing a long game, and he'll want to reel Trump in for that.

This is what I want all of us to talk about (but, admittedly suck at contributing).

While it seems so obvious, and I've seen the media very gently suggest this... The idea that the US is about to engage NK in a way that only undermines our position in the world or greatly promotes NK's. More or less, that we shouldn't have any faith in Trump in this, and it's ripe for misuse and - well - I can't imagine the scrutiny what any other president would be subjected to right now.

So sad.

And just like that, Rudy Giuliana screws his boss again. This time by telling the world that Kim Jong Un begged Trump on his hands and knees to come back to the summit plan.

Yeah...that's going to work out well with Kim and his people.

Seriously, is Giuliana secretly working for the Dems?

I'd think that offending Kim to the point of cancelation is the best outcome Trump could hope for right now. He has promised complete denuclearization to his base and probably knows that is never going to happen so rather than go into a summit where the only thing he is after is unavailable - and not wanting to actually cancel himself - he allows his peons to offend NK to the point they cancel then claims he is a hero for trying.

And don't forget his default excuse of being handed a terrible situation by past administrations. That goes over well with his base.

Trump says he'll know if Kim is serious "in the first minute" of the summit. Something about "touch" and "feel"... "It's what I do."

Aside from the ick factor here, he's also clearly laying the groundwork for a failure he can call a success.

Fox's Freudian slip is showing?
Fox & Friends, on Sunday said that summit between North Korea leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump is a meeting between “two dictators.”

Trump wrote:The fact that I am having a meeting is a major loss for the U.S., say the haters & losers. We have our hostages, testing, research and all missle launches have stoped, and these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say! We will be fine!
"Missle" launches have "stoped."

He's not there to do serious, verifiable, permanent nuclear reduction. He's there to score the appearance of a win against his domestic critics.

Kim knows this better than he does.

One hopes he vented enough tough-guy bluster on Trudeau yesterday that he doesn't feel compelled to give Kim the same treatment tomorrow. But dictators rely upon fear and intimidation, so I don't see how it can go any differently unless Kim is prepared to let Trump be king of the hill.

I'd so love to be in the room when it's just Kim and Trump and the translators. I'm having trouble deciding how horrible the translators will have it. Suppose it depends on Kim's actual personality.

Though I have this odd notion that the room would smell bad.

Well, you have to remember that Fox News is state run. Plus, Hannity and Trump are currently in a relationship. Hannity even updated his Facebook status to “its complicated...but lucrative.”

And Dennis Rodman is now on CNN sharing his wisdom. Take that for what it’s worth (which is damn little to me). Had to switch the channel as Dennis was sounding more like the mouthpiece of Kim-Jong Un.

Trump departure moved up 12 hours because Un was leaving earlier.

I take this as a sign nothing serious is getting done. I would say at best an agree to talk more later or let's have our people talk dead end.
