WaPo
Several dozen people assembled outside the White House Saturday to demand an investigation into the unfounded Internet rumor known as “Pizzagate.”

Wearing T-shirts and holding banners defending the conspiracy theory — which falsely linked Hillary Clinton to an alleged child-sex-trafficking ring operating out of a D.C. pizza parlor — protesters took turns climbing onto an elevated stage in Lafayette Square to demand politicians and mainstream news media take their claims seriously.
...
The demonstration came a day after the widely debunked conspiracy theory suffered two further blows.

On Friday, a North Carolina man pleaded guilty to weapons and assault charges in connection to an ill-fated attempt to expose the alleged sex-trafficking operation.
...
Also on Friday, Alex Jones, a conspiracy-loving media personality who pushed the Pizzagate narrative, apologized for his role in spreading the viral story.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

Ted's a journalist who has faced heads of state and the leaders of some of the worst regimes in history. He can handle a gossip show host with a community college degree, and still have the time and energy to interview the Pope afterwards.

It's hypebole. He also never promised to build DAPL to Keystone with American Steel. He played the shell game to let his voters believe that was the promise. I also don't think he ever promised to play less golf or ban Muslims (though he might have done the later.)

That was his shell game. DAPL and Keystone were already under contract to be build with Canadian/Russian steel. The deregulation/legislation commitments he promised were for consideration of new contracts. Much like how Obama sold that ACA as a cost reduction plan, when it was really a plan to insure more Americans, not reduce costs for all Americans. They conflate two ideas and then let you draw the wrong conclusion.

I was duped both by Trump's initial claims and by his opposition who attack him for those claimes but when you go back and look at his "promises" they have always been about new contracts even though he sold them in same breath as the need to build DAPL and Keystone for the sake of American Jobs.

Now those pipelines creating 10,000 American jobs? I'd love so see the gymnastics to involved there.

Also, I don't get why he's so heavy on "renegotiating" all of American commitments but not the Steel one.

True. It was only Medicaid that AHCA would have gutted. The poor vote less reliably than the elderly.

Yeah, I had conflated one with the other -- who knew that American health care could be so complicated?
