People have been dumping on this all day because:
1) reporter who's not a gov't agent is wearing a gov't agent badge,
2) no one--even in the military--wears this gear outside of a combat zone,
3) the southern border is absolutely not a combat zone,
4) reporter is wearing a ballistic plate carrier with no ballistic plates in it.

In his own twitter feed, he's defending it as something the Border Patrol made him wear for his own safety. Others are pointing out that it's a "tactical backpack" being worn backwards.
If the Border Patrol told him to put it on, they did so while chuckling and are now pissing themselves and rolling on the floor.

I'm still struggling to make it through Season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale. It just hits too close to home. Every episode feels like a preview of coming attractions.

There are a number of popular shows like Handmaid's Tale that I haven't been able to get into as it's just a little too depressing. Real life gets me down enough... I tried re-reading "1984" a few months back and had the same reaction.
