Someone please tell me there are protocols that prevent even the President from stealing anything out of the White House. It's a place stuffed to the gills with history we can't lose to a moron having a tantrum.
I'll bet there are just fucking "norms", like for everything else, apparently.

Thus, Agent Orange asks "sooooo, it's not illegal?" to which his crony lawyers say no, and then boom goes the dynamite. All to be sold off later to the highest bidder.
A lot of stuff is on loan from museums and is being returned, pending whatever the new president wants in the White House. That's all this is.

I've heard that theory, but isn't it likely a museum would insist on their items being professionally packaged and moved?

That's why I think these things are probably the personal property of aides. There are a lot of offices in the White House, and right now they're all clearing out.

It's as if Trump is openly trying to make things worse right up to the bitter end and beyond.

Trump decree on Covid visiting rules rebuffed as he enters final day
US President-elect Joe Biden has moved to dismiss a new White House decree on Covid travel rules, as Donald Trump enters his final full day in office.

In one of his last orders, Mr Trump had tried to end travel bans for visitors from much of Europe and Brazil.

Mr Biden's spokeswoman said now was not the time to be easing travel measures.
The US imposed travel restrictions on Europe last March and the Brazilian entry ban was put in place in May, but the White House decreed on Monday that the entry ban would end on 26 January, six days after Mr Biden takes office.

Just minutes later, Mr Biden's spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said on Twitter: "On the advice of our medical team, the administration does not intend to lift these restrictions on 1/26. In fact, we plan to strengthen public health measures around international travel in order to further mitigate the spread of Covid-19."

She said that with "more contagious variants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travel".

The Trump Presidency Thread

Post by Carpet_pissr »

From what I’ve seen the last month, I think the only thing PROBABLY out of play at this point, in Trump’s angry toddler brain, is dousing the Oval Office with gas on his way out the door. Maybe forcing the SS to take dumps in drawers in the WH.

We knew he was a piece of shit. We knew and predicted much fuckery these final weeks, but it still somehow makes me shake my head in wonder at the depths and reality of the shittiness.

It’s amazing and horrifying to watch.

The only question is how much of this is him trying to cause as much trouble for tricksy Bidensesss vs doing things that he think will make him look tough/good to his base. Despicable in both cases, slightly less so if the latter.

Holy crap, man. I watched that and all of the references felt like they were a lifetime ago. Mueller's image made me feel like that was a decade ago.

We'll see. He could still do it at the last second because he's the most self destructive person ever.

True. I could definitely see a last second panic attack. There is also a chance he'll properly estimate the GOP's actual ability to convict him.

As I watch CNN coverage waiting for Trump to board Marine One I had to laugh at some aides bringing out some boxes to the chopper and wondered what things are the Trump’s pillaging from the White House?

I will allow myself some optimism this morning. There’s a lot of work to be done and there are hateful forces opposing Biden but there’s something to be said about serious adults governing the country.

And soon he will slink away like a deposed dictator...

Update: He’s running a half hour behind. I wonder if he’s being talked down as Trump locks himself behind a bathroom door?

Update 2: Oh there he is. Run you cowardly piece of shit. CNN: He looks small. He just looks like a small man.

It was nice that he dropped a couple of China virus lines and talked about the pandemic in the past tense. Still, at least they talked him out of talking about the election.

But then what would he have to do in a second term in 2024?
