Re: The Trump Presidency Thread
God, if only that were true. An incestuous relationship with his own daughter might actually be enough to bring him low. I don't believe it for a second, but man, even Russian loving democrat haters would have a hard time swallowing that. Of course they would just deny it but if Ivanka came out and said it was true, they'd be hard pressed to ignore it.
Being dumb as a bag of hammers, being hopelessly unqualified, being a foreign power's stooge, being an immoral, unethical scumbag? No problem, at least he's not a democrat (he's also not a republican you dumbasses). Being a child molesting daughter abuser? Well, he says he didn't do it, and that's good enough for my racism.
Where is that heart attack I was promised? Are they making sure he's getting enough KFC?

While I'm sure Trump wishes he could (based on the man's own comments), there's no percentage in it for Ivanka, so I'm guessing "No"

a) Grooming is a thing
b) There is the untold, hidden, no one knows where it is or how much it is, Drumpf wealth. If we're talking about "percentages in it for Ivanka", I'd say that's a pretty big one. At least until the truth is revealed and we suddenly find out there's nothing left after his benefactors get their cut.

I don't thinks he's actually lusting over his daughter.* I think he just sees her as something he "created" and thus is thrilled when she shines. She's symbolizes good genes in his mind. Everything in his life is in service to his ego.
*Must add the caveat that finding out he actually is an incestuous, child molesting dirt bag on top of being a horrible human being would not surprise me.

I agree. Reminds me of my in-laws' relationship with my kids. I know they love them in their own way, but they only come to visit the kids when it's convenient for them. They never offer to keep them or have them come over for a visit.hepcat wrote:Everything in his life is in service to his ego.
However, when there is an opportunity to show off the grandkids to their friends, they're all over it. Whether that be posting pictures to Facebook or showing them off to waitresses in a restaurant. It always circles back to how the grandkids can make them look like great grandparents, even though they have very little interaction with them in real life.
It really drives my wife and I crazy. We feel like to them the kids are basically props to be pulled out for display only when it will serve to make them look good.

Re: The Trump Presidency Thread
Incorrect. There is a long record on how much Trump wants to bang his daughter.
Now, I think it's unlikely that he *has* actually banged his daughter, for the simple reason that there's no reason to think that Ivanka reciprocates his wildly inappropriate lusting. But it's 100% clear that he *wants* to bang his daughter.

ehhhhhh, that's an extremely charitable view of Trump's comments. The comments are not "isn't she beautiful, my daughter is amazing", aren't I so great for producing such a beautiful daughter. It's 100% "she is so hot I really want to bang her, although even my lizard brain recognizes that unfortunately that would be frowned upon."

Re: The Trump Presidency Thread
If you read those quotes, you'll see the orange doofus' ego shining through.
“You know who’s one of the great beauties of the world, according to everybody? And I helped create her. Ivanka.
“My daughter, Ivanka. She’s 6 feet tall, she’s got the best body. She made a lot money as a model—a tremendous amount.”
“Let me tell you one thing: Ivanka is a great, great beauty. Every guy in the country wants to go out with my daughter. But she’s got a boyfriend.”
"I want to have sex with a donkey on live television while signing an executive order for my return to Celebrity Apprentice."
...okay, I might have made up one of those quotes. But I think it's pretty clear that Trump views his daughter's physical and monetary capabilities as a reflection of his own success as a sperm donor.

On the other hand, in the course of coming on to a porn star, Trump tells her "You remind me of my daughter." For a normal guy, that would rank right up with "You remind me of my mother" as a boner-killer.

This whole conversation is revolting, both from the surface level incest is gross angle, and from the angle that it's not unlikely that the President potentially has sexual thoughts about his daughter (and we know he might because of things he's done and said on the public record).
I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

Worse, he has openly admitted to wanting to bang his daughter and everyone seems fine with it, as long as there's no irrefutable evidence that he actually did. And if there turns out to be, well we'll cross that particular bridge over denial when we get to it.YellowKing wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 1:10 pm Let's just pause and reflect on the fact that in 2018, the idea that the President wants to bang his own daughter is a feasible proposition.

$11M for tried and true joint exercises = waste of money.
$100M for an antiquated, ego-boosting attempt to outdo Macron = wonderful.
The ceremony is said to be largely inspired by Trump's front-row seat at France's Bastille Day military parade in Paris.
In September, Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron and recalled how much he enjoyed watching the parade. "It was a tremendous day, and to a large extent because of what I witnessed, we may do something like that on July 4 in Washington down Pennsylvania Avenue," Trump said.
"We're going to have to try to top it, but we have a lot of planes going over and a lot of military might, and it was really a beautiful thing to see, and representatives from different wars and different uniforms," he added.
Seriously, fuck this guy. Fuck him hard.

Did someone say good faith?
National security adviser John Bolton, who to his credit tried to prevent the disastrous one-on-one meeting between Kim and Trump, inadvertently (or not) let on that North Korea hasn’t done much of anything. In a Fox News interview (the most dangerous interviews are often on friendly turf), Bolton acknowledged: “The United States has lived up to the Singapore declaration. It’s just North Korea that has not taken the steps we feel are necessary to denuclearize.” Translation: So far it looks as though Trump was snookered.

I don't support the parade. In fact, I'm angered by it, but numbers without context don't mean much to me.
It's like saying you have a rescue team, that you pay no matter what and they train and use resources no matter what. If that takes $50,000 a day to maintain no matter what, it seems disingenuous to say the rescue took two weeks and cost over a million dollars, when $700,000 was going to spent on the rescue team whether they were rescuing or not.
Are troops being paid more for TDY than they would to sit in a barracks? Do the cost of the aircraft go up for a parade? Etc...The $92 million cost estimate includes security, transportation of parade assets, aircraft, as well as temporary duty, or TDY, for troops. The official also noted that while the size and scope of the military parade can still shift, the plans currently include approximately eight tanks, as well as other armored vehicles, including Bradleys, Strykers and M113s.

Re: The Trump Presidency Thread
Generally, civilians are paid more for TDY. First, they get paid what they normally get paid. They also get paid travel expenses, including flights, hotels, and per diem. Now, that can be different for military. But I’ve been on TDY and encountered hundreds of soldiers on TDY. They didn’t travel on military aircraft that were already going to the new duty station (they flew commercial). They didn’t stay in barracks (they stayed on post in a real hotel). And I’m presuming that based on how they arranged travel, there was a per diem involved.LordMortis wrote:Are troops being paid more for TDY than they would to sit in a barracks? As for the equipment, where is the equipment coming from? At a minimum you are looking at fuel costs, potential transport costs, etc.
For what? To stroke this shitbag’s ego? I don’t care if the parade only costs $1 additional dollar. It’s still a waste of time and money.
