That's not the first time he's tweeted out that particular line either.

Anyone know what prompted this?

(For those wondering, Reid was not "thrown out." He retired after a major injury. The last time he lost an election was 1975.)

(Oh, and he is also dying of pancreatic cancer, so Trump gets extra points for classiness here.)

A Harry Reid appearance on CNN this morning.

A searing critic of President George W. Bush and his administration, Reid now says in the age of Trump, he wishes for Bush again "every day," saying Bush would be "Babe Ruth" compared to the current president.

CNN
Reid says he is now in remission, lucky that doctors caught his pancreatic cancer early and noting that it is almost always a death sentence because it is usually too late to treat when finally detected. But the chemotherapy treatment was especially brutal, compromising several vertebrae to the point where he needed two back surgeries and leaving him unable to walk much without assistance.

Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!

Yeah, Trump pretty much identifies with hate.
This brief outburst [Trump's tweet, above] contains a few notable elements. First, there is Trump’s familiar habit of calling African-Americans “racist.” Lee’s speech did not contain any generalizations about white people, nor any calls for violence or retribution. The closest thing to a broad claim about white people in his remarks was a statement noting and denouncing slavery:

[...]

Finally, and most amusingly, Trump’s anger and offense was directed against a speech that is (by recent standards) notably nonpartisan. Lee did not mention Trump’s name. He did not endorse any candidates or parties.

“The 2020 election is right around the corner,” he said. “Let’s all mobilize, let’s all be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love versus hate. Let’s do the right thing.”

In theory, a president could listen to a call for making the moral choice of love against hate and doing “the right thing” and interpret it as an endorsement — or, at minimum, a nonpartisan statement. Trump processed it as a personal attack.

I have been seeing/hearing a lot lately about how Obama did nothing for blacks and Trump has been 100x better for them. Must have been run up the alt-right flagpole at some point recently. More FUD. Not surprised to see him gobbling it up.

He's decided he's going to keep using the word "racist" so much that folks will forget what it means. He doesn't care that he's using it wrong. Just that he lessens its impact when folks apply it to Trump and his klan.

This is a good column about Trump's Spike Lee attacks, tying it to the dogwhistle about Obama needing a teleprompter (the underlying theme appearing to be that black people can't speak intelligently without prompts).

Trump is plainspoken because he speaks from the heart, on behalf of the American people, without focus-grouping everything that he's going to say. Obviously.

When I heard this earlier today that was my thought, why didn't he spin it as an endorsement by Lee? But then I remembered it's trump and he has Small Man's Disease/Tiny Dick Syndrome so..yeah, personal attack it is. And I'm sure his basket of deplorables ate it up.

POTUS wrote:Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth. North Korea would be the same, and very quickly, if it would denuclearize. The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong Un. We will know fairly soon - Very Interesting!
Gawd. This is so tiresome.

Trump is a child. Vietnam hosted his party and Kim told him he was wonderful, so now both nations are among the greatest anywhere.

For anyone wondering, Vietnam creaks along under a regime of central control little better than any other communist country. The degree to which they are "thriving" is a function of making cheap labor available to other countries' supply chains.

Needless to say, Vietnam ranks very low on any index of freedom and individual opportunity. Should we even mention North Korea there?

Cohen was drumpf's fixer well before drumpf had any aspirations in politics. The idea that Cohen is somehow dirty and turning on his clean president is laughable.

How fucking unaware are GOP voters? Every single dirty thing Cohen has ever done, he has done for drumpf at drumpf's request.

Pay fucking attention GOP. He's not a conservative. He's not even GOP.

Mr Trump said: "He tells me he didn't know about it, and I will take him at his word."

I would say that the Dems should parade out Warmbier's parents every time Trump has an appearance, just like Trump does with the parents of anyone murdered by an illegal immigrant...well, the ones that look Mexican at least; but I would rather they didn't stoop that low.
