Well, this story isn’t in the book but it’s wild. While Trump was meeting with Kim Jong Un in Singapore, a club championship was held at Trump International, the course Trump built near Mar-a-Lago in Florida. So later on, Trump’s back on the course there with the Secret Service and the SWAT team guys and all that stuff. And he sees Ted Virtue, who was involved in the financing of the movie Green Book.

I could never get Virtue to call me back on all this, but Golf.com reported it and I heard it from two members of the club as well. They say Virtue was there playing with his son. Trump sees Ted on the 9th hole and and decides to drive his cart over. He tells Ted: “Congrats on winning the club championship, but you didn’t really win it, because I was out of town.”

Ted tries to laugh it off, but Trump is dead serious. Trump says, “We’re gonna play these last six holes for the championship.” And Ted’s like, “Oh, well, I’m playing with my son, but thanks anyway.” But Trump says, “It’s okay. Your son can play, too.” So what are you going to do? He’s the president. It’s his course. They end up playing.

Apparently, they get to a hole with a big pond in front of the green. Both Ted and his son hit the ball on the green, but Trump hits his in the water. By the time they get to the hole, though, Trump is lining up the son’s ball. Only now it’s his ball and the caddie has switched it.

The son is like, “That’s my ball!” But Trump’s caddie goes, “No, this is the president’s ball; your ball went in the water.” Ted and his son look at each other confused, not sure if this is really happening. Trump makes that putt, and wins one up. Then, according to Golf.com, he tells Virtue something like, “I’ll tell you what, we’ll be co-champions.”

But the members tell me that when you look at the plaques on Trump’s locker there, it says: “2018 Men’s Club Champion.” No “co-” at all.
Fucking idiot. Trump.

Pardoning several accused and convicted war criminals at once, including some who have not yet gone to trial, has not been done in recent history, legal experts said. Some worried that it could erode the legitimacy of military law and undercut good order and discipline in the ranks.
Plus it has the added benefit of letting soldiers know they should do whatever it takes to MAGA.
“It raises the prospect in the minds of the troops that says, ‘Whatever we do, if we can get the folks back home behind us, maybe we can get let off.’”

Trump would have us believe that this guy is a hero.

What does that make the SEALs who repeatedly reported him and tried to restrain his patterns of murder?

Someone with this level of psychopathy will not be able to function normally in a civilian life. I'm sure there will be plenty of grounds for nailing his ass after he shoots his wife or runs over a neighbor.

The evil socialists are now coming to take away...windows?

“You know this. You have some of these socialist wackos they want to double and triple your taxes, and that won’t come close to paying for. They want to knock down all buildings in Manhatten and rebuild them without windows. You know that. Let’s rebuild them. Glass is no good. We don’t want windows. I used to love the view, but I think we’ll all be forced to close up windows. It’s crazy what they’re saying.”
How anyone can listen to this nonsense and think "now that's an inspiring leader" (or even "yeah, this guy is sane") is entirely beyond me.

They ignore it because it's just filler. They're waiting for the money shot:

Is he talking about the window tax in Britain, France, etc., that was abolished like 250 years ago?

Nice. Of course, it has an element of truth. Like Bezos, Gates doesn't agree with him on anything, is *actually* rich, and is "wasting" it by helping "shithole" countries. You know Trump has to be insecure as hell about him, which would lead him to want to tear him down.

It's too bad she has such a speech impediment, as it takes away from the power of her words. Does she wear dentures?

Oration is a skill with many facets, speaking clearly is one of them.

The problem here is that CNN broadcasts this news conference, and, I assume, Fox will continue to ignore the facts as a whole and mischaracterize what's going on by reporting a small sliver without context.

The relevant facts will never reach the voters that need to hear them.

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
Donald Trump’s golf habit has already cost taxpayers at least $102 million in extra travel and security expenses, and next month will achieve a new milestone: a seven-figure presidential visit to another country so he can play at his own course.
But that's not even the punchline - here's the kicker (emphasis added):
The $102 million total to date spent on Trump’s presidential golfing represents 255 times the annual presidential salary he volunteered not to take. It is more than three times the cost of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation that Trump continually complains about. It would fund for six years the Special Olympics program that Trump’s proposed budget had originally cut to save money.
I mean, really.

So dumb.
Harriet Tubman — former slave, abolitionist, “conductor” on the Underground Railroad — will not become the face of the $20 bill until after President Trump leaves office, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday.

Plans to unveil the Tubman bill in 2020, an Obama administration initiative, would be postponed until at least 2026, Mr. Mnuchin said, and the bill itself would not likely be in circulation until 2028.
***
Mr. Mnuchin, concerned that the president might create an uproar by canceling the new bill altogether, was eager to delay its redesign until Mr. Trump was out of office, some senior Treasury Department officials have said.

It involves black people *and* it was an Obama initiative? Yeah, that's a non-starter.

Honestly, Mnuchin probably made the right call here, insofar as the odds of Trump canceling it altogether were probably like 95%. Probably still a 50/50 proposition.

In any sane, rational universe, Pelosi is just another greedy, career politician getting rich off "public service." In this Trumpiverse hell, she is Obi-Wan, seemingly our only hope.

I mean it sucks that she is being held up as this shield of righteousness because she indeed a shield of [relative] righteousness but she's also Nancy Pelosi.

She was not on my list of people I was happy with until 2016. But I have to say I believe she has stepped up to plate and is doing the best I could expect from the standpoint of working in the law against people who refuse to. I am pleasantly surprised.
