US President Donald Trump has named one of his political strategists as campaign manager for his 2020 re-election campaign.
The Trump Organization hired Brad Parscale in 2011 as a digital media guru.
He was asked in 2015 to create a website for Mr Trump's exploratory White House bid and a year later became the campaign's digital director.
...
The president is promoting from within, as Mr Parscale - a web designer by trade - managed the 2016 campaign's social media efforts despite being a political novice. Given that the top job that year was a bit of a hot potato, someone who is familiar with how Mr Trump operates could bring stability to the next run.
...
Mr Trump's campaign fundraising has been ongoing, raising $22m (£16m) by the end of 2017.
...
Mr Parscale was interviewed behind closed doors last year by the House Intelligence Committee inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in the US election.
He said he had told lawmakers he had no knowledge of the alleged Kremlin plot to influence the campaign in favour of Mr Trump.
He told a CBS 60 Minutes programme last year that Mr Trump had rebuked him during the election, because the candidate was sceptical about ad spending.
...
The digital guru's firm, Giles-Parscale, billed the Trump campaign $94m for its work on the election, reports US media.

Re: Trump 2020
Trump should probably go ahead and start telling everyone that Pascale was a nobody volunteer that never did much and also he never met with him and who is he again?

You have to put the guy who coordinated with Russian bots and hackers back on the payroll to cover the payoff.

Re: Trump 2020
If this Maryland law passes, it'll make Trump 2020 interesting because he'll have to release his tax returns to get on the ballot there.

Omg, that would be so awesome. Not because I think they are the smoking gun, but because it would force Drumpf to do something he doesn't want to do.
Also, they might be the smoking gun.

Re: Trump 2020
Only if he thinks he can compete in MD. This same idea was floated in MA. The main objection is that Trump will simply walk away (since he can't win anyway), thereby disenfranchising a sizable minority of our voters -- he won nearly 33% in '16 and would probably still take 25% in 2020.
In vaguely related news, I was driving yesterday when I saw an old man by the side of the road brandishing a sign that said "Trump won fair & square." Defensive, aren't we?
