Not even talking about virtue. Just a better (more lucrative, sustainable) career. Which, if there weren't decades of similar behavior/treatments and it was an isolated case, wouldn't be bad, but as a pattern of behavior, it is abhorrent, because of the way it mangles discourse to demonize.

Giuliani, being interviewed by Sean Hannity, just said that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the Stormy Daniels payout, something Trump and his team have strictly denied from the beginning.

Re: Stormy Weather (Trump & Women)
Was just about to share that!
President Donald Trump's new lawyer Rudy Giuliani says the president repaid attorney Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump had told reporters that he was not aware of the payment and that he didn't know where Cohen had gotten the money.
Giuliani made the revelation during an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity."
He also says the payment "is going to turn out to be perfectly legal" because "that money was not campaign money."

Re: Stormy Weather (Trump & Women)
And now, on Fox & Friends this morning, Giuliani just tried the defense that it was necessary to pay Stormy so that this story wouldn't erupt as a distraction in the finals weeks of the campaign...
...thus blowing up the Trump team's official claim that the payment was merely personal and had nothing to do with the campaign.

Look at the monkey! Look at the monkey! I mean Jesus, Clinton did it and yet you attack Trump. Clinton didn't even have the sense to pay people off. Not smart.
For that matter Trump hasn't come out and said he paid off Dainiels and her hardly knows Giuliani.
I never had a hatred of Giuliani until 2016. I guess I never knew him because I live in a fly over state.

Did anyone else see Avenatti on Colbert last night?
After agreeing with the host’s premise, Avenatti presented a brand-new piece of evidence in his case against the president. “This is a copy of the incoming wire receipt from Ms. Daniels’ prior counsel showing the origin of the $130,000,” he told Colbert. Avenatti pointed out that the payment came from the San Francisco branch of the company Michael Cohen created for this purpose, meaning that if California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra were to bring charges against Cohen, Trump would not be able to pardon him.
“That could take away his ‘get out of jail free’ card right there,” Colbert said, to which Avenatti said, “Absolutely.”

There has to be a plan. I will guarantee you that any interview between Giuliliani and Hannity was not out of left field. Is it a good plan? I dunno. Ask Fed, maybe? But either there was a change in tactics when Cobb stepped down and Flood stepped up or this has been some sort of long game legal trap all along. I find it hard to believe Trump, himself, is capable of being part of this sort of long game but it's not like I'm never wrong and he's spent his entire life around shady lawyers playing shady games and being part of the scheme.

I'm fairly certain it's a combination of two things. Guiliani likes running his mouth to appear more important and in the loop than he really is. But also, Trump's side is trying to placate Cohen because they are terrified of him flipping on Trump.LordMortis wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 9:23 amThere has to be a plan. From the clips I have seen, Hannity seemed genuinely shocked from what Giuliani was saying. Giuliani's story isn't exactly coherent, and the talk coming out of the White House doesn't seem to be incredibly coordinated. I don't think anyone expected Giuliani to say what he did, and now they are flailing to try and make it work.GreenGoo wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 10:05 amThat was my first thought, but Giuliani is not exactly a top of the line defense attorney, and Hannity, well, he has shown multiple times that he doesn't think before he speaks.LordMortis wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 9:23 am There has to be a plan. Cohen paid her, Trump reimbursed Cohen with his own money via a retainer without asking for details of the expense.
