What should the Biden campaign slogan be?

Post by Skinypupy »

We’ve seen the incredible power a slogan can have. “Hope and Change” and “Make America Great Again” have defined the ethos of the last two administrations (for better or worse), and give people something to rally around. Presuming a Biden nomination (which I don’t know why we wouldn’t at this point), what should his campaign slogan be?

I’ve been leaning towards something reconciliatory, such as “Healing America” or “Back To Business” (depending on the COVID-19 situation by then) as a call to swing the pendulum back towards decency as a fundamental societal expectation. Probably a lofty and unrealistic one, mind you, but it would be inclusive and positive. Curious what others think.

While wildly appropriate, I think that “Make America Sane Again” and “Recover From Stupidity” are probably both out. :)

Biden wants to be the candidate of Decency and Healing, so he should hark back to Lincoln.

"For the People" sounds good to me. It's weighty and meaningful and crushes the bombastic grandiosity of "Make America Great Again."

I like that. My first thought was “Fellow Americans”, but it’s not actionable enough. “For the People” would be great.

I’m just worried that they’re going to land on something stupid like “Go Joe!”

Remember No-drama Obama? I'd love to return to the days when bowing to the Saudi king was as bad as it got. Biden's a gaffe machine, so he would at least keep us entertained in a harmless way.

Biden 2020: I'm gonna hang that stupid SOB from the highest god-damn tree, and his enablers with him. You know who I'm talking about! And, then we're going to roll back each of this idiots self-centred, rich-enabling policies. We're going to help the poor, the disenfranchised. We're going to help the middle-class. And we're going to tax the wealthy so that they won't have to "step up to the plate" in times of need; their tax contributions will make sure they are doing that every day! We've learned a horrible, valuable lesson. Our critical workers don't make a living wage. Let's fix that! Our medical support systems are favouring those not in need of help but those in want of profit. Let's change that! And let us not forget, though it would be easy to do so, that our planet is on a course to make significant parts of this world - including the majority of our great country - inhabitable by 2050. We will act now to mitigate this damage and create new jobs and industries as a direct result! No more will the American people be led by cowardice, hatred, division and mediocrity. We will bring change, empowerment, opportunity for all and we will do so immediately. The rule of law and the constitution shall guide us, as shall our principles of today. America will step into the forefront again and lead by example. We will provide leadership at all governing bodies and the American way will, once again, be a moral compass instead of the money-laundering institution it has become. The respect shall be regained and the trust necessary to become the leader of the free world shall be restored. Our allies will see a renewed trust with reconfirmed support to all alliances. We will rebuild these relationships with renewed vigour and renewed determination.
So sayeth the wise Alaundo.
