Excuses excuses.
That or it's simple projection.
Pete Townshend has spoken out about the child pornography scandal that engulfed him in 2003.
The Who guitarist says his decision to investigate child pornography was a product of “white knight syndrome, an attempt to be seen to be the one that’s helping,” he tells The Times.
“I had experienced something creepy as a child, so you imagine: what if I was a girl of nine or 10 and my uncle had raped me every week? I felt I had an understanding and I could help.”
Townshend – who is the founder of sexual abuse charity Double O – said he paid a £7 charge to a child pornography site, which he cancelled straight away, to expose the financial chain of child abuse from Russian orphanages. When police discovered the files, he was cautioned and placed on the sex offenders register for five years after he admitted to breaking the law.
That or it's simple projection.

I always lock doors and am on high alert at home (and everywhere else). I'm starting to think that's not normal?
Aside: I was at a meeting in a garage attached to a bar. One of the guests was a US rep and while we were chit-chartting pre-meeting, this big, bald, ex-military looking guy a suit came in and sat down. I assumed he was secret service. A few minutes later the rep came in. I suddenly felt very conscious that I was carrying and wondered why the SS guy didn't pat people down or whatever. The rep gave his talk and then the big guy started talking. Turns out he was a candidate running for a judge's seat, not any sort of security. The congressman had just walked over by himself. Was kind of shocked at that. Pleasantly, but still surprised. Now it's kind of worrisome.

"Fake inaugural credentials" are the scary part since it almost certainly implies the intent to assassinate someone. But I wonder if they were so bad that the cops saw through them right away.

Hope this is the case and it’s not something more sinister. The Fuller Story: Man stopped with Glock and 500 rounds of ammo near Capitol was private security guard, his family says. He was not accused of showing phony credentials - but a "non-govt." credential -and an officer decided he wasn't authorized to enter.

Was he working armed security or not? Typically "normal" for someone not on a job would be what's in the gun and a few spare mags. So around 45 rounds? If he was legit going to an armed security job for a few days, 500 isn't necessarily suspicious.

According to the linked article above he is claiming he wasn't even supposed to have the gun. He realized he accidentally took it with him "half way" into his trip but was running late so he took his chances. He also claims the 500 rounds of ammo wasn't there. So someone is making a mistake or lying here.LawBeefaroni wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 9:24 pmWas he working armed security or not? I'm totally not trying to call you out, I'm really curious because this isn't something I'm even vaguely familiar with. Would they be anticipating doing practice on a range or qualifying or something? Otherwise, I can't imagine standing guard at a post and thinking that you need enough ammo for an extended firefight. But maybe after the 6th that's part of the calculus.LawBeefaroni wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 9:24 pm

We're talking in the trunk of his car. Not in his pockets. I don't think he'd have it for practice but just to ensure he had proper tools of the trade.gbasden wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:13 amI'm totally not trying to call you out, I'm really curious because this isn't something I'm even vaguely familiar with. Considering that he'd have to go to MD or VA to buy more, it's not crazy to have spare ammo in the trunk. Especially in the middle of a total ammo shortage. Chances are even if he could find some in VA/MD, he would be limited to a few boxes or would pay insane prices.
That's all assuming he's on the level. He very may have been going there to shoot up the capitol and brought 500 rounds to do so. If that were the case I'd expect he'd have a dozen or more mags as well. Haven't seen enough detail to know.

For all we know, the guy simply keeps a stock of it, maybe an ammo crate, when he travels. It's like someone who goes through a lot of batteries on the road buying a case of them and keeping them in the trunk, even if he only goes through a half dozen on any particular trip.
And no, he likely won't shoot 500 rounds total in his whole career. Most won't shoot 5, if any. But a lot of people who carry a gun for a living like to make regular stops by the range to put a hundred rounds through paper. It's like stopping by the hotel gym to do a little lifting so that you don't lose what you've got.

When Trump was elected, Democrats marched in protest because we thought he was a racist, sexist, lying narcissist who couldn't be trusted with presidential power or relied upon to manage a national crisis. Events proved that we were 100% correct.
Now that Biden has been elected, Republicans are calling for a coup and martial law because they think Biden is a communist crime-boss who will outlaw capitalism, confiscate all guns, imprison Christians, unleash Antifa terror on the suburbs, and force everyone to have gay-married abortions with Hollywood liberals. Or something.
What heinous policy will Biden enact first? Government investment in green energy?

Re: Political Violence - Trump End Times ed.
So it sounds like 500 Round Guy "mistakenly" brought his gun into DC because he forgot/didn't know DC gun laws.
He was.supppsedly working legit security gig but it was an unarmed job. Cops noticed pro gun stickers on his car and then scrutinized his credentials which they said we're invalid and then searched his car. He insists they are valid and he had been working the job previously. He has other armed jobs.
Here's my take (all IMO).
1. He didn't forget/not know DC gun laws. They are legendary and he was coming from VA. He probably just figured he wouldn't get caught and didn't want to leave the gun at home. He had credentials and was "security", after all. In his mind, he's one of the good guys (despite violating local gun laws). If he really forgot, he forgot to leave his gun at home, not the laws.
2. His credentials were probably legit, meaning he was hired as security. They may not have been proper by the letter of the law. Explains how he got through previously but didn't pass under heightened scrutiny.
3. His car was loaded with pro-gun stickers. I see this a lot, even in Chicago. This is stupid, no matter where you are. It alerts thieves that your vehicle is probably a good target and it never endears you to law enforcement. It's also how I identify gun owners I don't want to hang out with. In this case, it caused the heightened scrutiny and vehicle search.
4. He's probably not an insurrectionist intent on mischief. He just made some very poor judgement calls and got caught breaking DC gun laws.
All based on info in this article.
He was arrested for firearm without a license, unregistered gun and.unregistered ammo. In VA none of that applies. Don't need a license, don't have to register guns or ammo. We have an absurd patchwork of laws but if you bring a gun with you it's wise to know them.

Seems legit.A woman was arrested at an inauguration checkpoint Saturday morning for impersonating a law enforcement officer and fleeing from police, officials say.
Linda Magovern, 63, was arrested near Union Station after she said she was an officer and “a part of the presidential cabinet,” and presented a military police challenge coin, a D.C. police report says.

It's relevant as far as intent. If you believe he was going to do his job, then he's just dumb. If not, it's much easier to imagine dangerous motives.

Hmm. When that happens here in NJ I just assume the cops royally fucked up something. Like they'll be caught in a straight up lie that'll make further prosecutions difficult if it gets on the record. Recently we had a drug case locally where the police lied about their conduct and it was caught on camera from a business across the street. The prosecutor dropped the case last minute so the officer wouldn't be called to testify most likely and defense attorney was so incensed that he went to the news. The prosecutor tried to get a gag order on him! The court sanctioned the prosecutor's office, forced them to pay the defendants bill, and the whole thing died when the prosecutor's term ended. The incoming one just buried it all. That cop is still out there violating people's rights still.LawBeefaroni wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:59 pmReminds me of Jeremy Dewitte. I don't know if this particular video has been posted here on the domestic terror attack earlier this month, but the chaos it contains is scary. The people praying for all the "White Light" present that day at the end is disturbing by itself; I'm sure the light had to be defined by color.

They know what would show up under black light.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Saw an interview with the officer being dragged and beaten at 1:00 with someone screaming "Hang him up". He says he almost went for his gun but realized not only would that have been his own death warrant as well as the those around him but that he didn't want to be the flashpoint. Instead he started crying, pleading "I have children." That's a lot of presence of mind. More than I have.Paingod wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 10:39 am I don't know if this particular video has been posted here on the domestic terror attack earlier this month, but the chaos it contains is scary. The people praying for all the "White Light" present that day at the end is disturbing by itself; I'm sure the light had to be defined by color.
I couldn't watch after that. I don't have the stomach.

The manatee will also be the basis for the new Trump party/cult’s new logo.
It’s also hard core subversive AF. Look at all the lib tears already spilt over this!
CNBC reported that Parler is moving to be hosted by a Russian partially state sponsored service.

The internet protocol address it used is owned by DDos-Guard, which is controlled by two Russian men and provides services including protection from distributed denial of service attacks, infrastructure expert Ronald Guilmette told Reuters.

DDoS-Guard’s website lists an address in Scotland under the company name Cognitive Cloud LP, but that is owned by two men in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, Guilmette said. One of them told the Guardian recently that he was not aware of all of the content the company facilitates.

Hosting it in Russia isn't going to make it reappear in the app stores for the most popular devices.
When Russia becomes the place you have to hang your bullhorn because everyone else kicked you out, you should probably reassess your values.
