replacing cooling fan on video card - easy to do?

replacing cooling fan on video card - easy to do?
i've got a Tyan Radeon 9700 Pro that i purchased off a GG'er earlier this year. while it's been working great, the cooling fan on the card is pretty noisy, and makes loud 'grindy' noises occasionally. how big a deal is it to replace it with a new (better) fan?

If it is a standard fan it is quite easy. If it isn't, you may need to replace the heatsink and fan, which is a bit more dangerous.
Basically, a standard fan would just be a square fan with four spots for screws. You can measure it to see what size it is (standard sizes are 40, 60, 70, and 80mm). Most video card fans are about 60mm.
If it isn not a standard fan, you can remove the old heatsink (most are attached with pushpins) and then put a new one on it (again with pushpins and some thermal paste). Overall, is isn't a whole lot different than replacing the heatsink/fan on a cpu.
