Old DOS games running crappy.

Post by knob »

So, is there a way to fix a DOS game that is running choppy under XP?

Hexen, in this case.

If it helps, my system:

Athlon 2500+ XP
512 ram
Geforce FX 5900 SE
If I had a sig, would you read it?

Very carefully.

I'm new to the whole DOS in XP thing, so basically I'm just double clicking on the file through windows explorer. I also put it in Win95 Emulation and "Run it in 256 color" with no change.

Try using this program:

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/

Its a DOS emulator. It will run a lot of old programs very well. You might want to read the readme file first, though.
