Google Earth street view changes?

Is there something up with the street view in Google Earth? Places where I used to be able to get a street view no longer work. I can tell some places are newer pics but then some other places dont have a street view but once did like one of my old homes.

What really chaps my hide is that I've seen the Google car pass by me twice in the past few years and each time I waved. Then I'd check the location on Gmaps. It's the old images...old images...not updated yet...then one day it's updated, to something newer than when I was there! The bastards!
