Is a 34ms ping really all that bad?

Not in the Philippines.

Most sources I've read call anything sub-100 'good enough' for multiplayer gaming, with sub-75 being ideal. 34 seems pretty damned great - I can't think of much where a few milliseconds less would matter. 34 is already one tenth of the blink of an eye.

Looks like this year another company will throw up net and give my current ISP the door. Actually they'd both stay but I dont see the one here now being able to compete. The new one would offer gig service...1000 up 1000 down. Where tv,phone,crappy net is now costing me $200 this new one would give me all that and more for $150

my promo deal expired and Comcast said they weren't able to provide my current speed at the same rate anymore ($10 increase), so i opted to save $20 by more than halving the speed (from 65Mb/s to 25Mb/s). sad, but my rent has just increased and i do need to save some $$.

We dumped tv as well as phone and just have net. Its funny because we asked about getting a good deal on tv and we'd keep it but they couldn't do it. Now that we dumped it completely they keep begging us to come back and offer us deals half again better than their previous best deals. We told them to kiss our ass.
