Losing shortcut icons

Why do I keep losing desktop shortcut icons? Every now and then I just will be missing the icon. The shortcut still works and is still named but its icon is gone. If I open the shortcut properties and check it is still correct in there and shows the icon. But on desktop nope.

I think Charter is blocking them on their side. Stupid throttled bandwidth.

As always, my favorite thing about a Daehawk post is the time - it always adds a whole new layer to the question or comment. Regardless, I've done some pretty messed up things at 3:43 in the morning. But consider the existential existence of my desktop icons? That's hardcore man.

Perhaps the icon cache is involved?

In that case, just a double check - you're looking for the icons on your computer monitor and not your computer desk, right?

I used that .bat file to clean up the icon thing and restarted and its all ok again. TY again.
