New email client

Post by Daehawk »

Not that many years ago I needed to get my old email back and you guys helped me out. This time I couldn't find that post but after 30 min I found I used Windows Live mail. I downloaded it but it failed to install over and over. online say they stopped support 2012 but it should work with my ISPs email.

But no matter. I just download Mozilla's Thunderbird and it seems pretty flawless so far. Easy to use and installed fine. I see where they are going to start updating it again or something as they are hiring a engineer or something. Good news. Even more with just my name and pass and email it set itself up all by itself for my ISP email. I could do it manually but its nice it did it for me.

I've been using Thunderbird for years, it's a good program.

Did I stumble into a thread from 2004?! I didn’t even know that people still used email clients.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

I only use one for my old ISP one Ive had since the 90s. When I did my format and reinstall recently I decided not to bother with it because its mostly useless spam and ads but today I realized my Newegg is tied to it and I needed something from it.

Working great so far. Its a lot like my old client...sorta same'ish looks and features. Glad I found it. I like Mozilla stuff it seems.

If it's not on my computer, it's not mine. I've been burned a couple of times.
I'd say web based solutions are save today, as they want to scan through your stuff, so it's in their best interest to keep your mails in their possession.
Gaming? Nope, I'm into Bitwig.

How do you check your email on your phone?

I suppose I should have said “desktop client”. While I have the gmail app on my phone, I have mostly transitioned off of email and on to text messaging of various sorts. 98% of the email I deal with is spam bullshit.
