I am having problems installing the cumulative security update for January with 0x800f081f. I googled it, and it keeps giving me solutions I can't use on Win10Home, like open up group policy editor (doesn't exist in Win10 Home) or do windows deployment images (again, not Win10Home).
It also says to go into apps and subtract / add the feature for .NET 3.5, but that didn't help.
Gah. Just ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter, then downloaded that update separately, trying a different install now.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
(Need to get this installed before 3DMark will work to do the ray tracing benchmark)

Hmmm, that windows update troubleshooter fix plus separate download and install the update seems to have worked.
Now it's installing V1803 Win10 update. FINALLY.

FWIW, you can easily enable the Group Policy Editor in Windows 10 Home Edition with the use of a simple .bat file that uses the built-in Windows packages installation for installing gpedit.msc (so no third-party software is even necessary).Kasey Chang wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 2:39 am I am having problems installing the cumulative security update for January with 0x800f081f. I did that, but it didn't help, as such policy doesn't exist in Win10Home.
I was looking for 1809 update, but apparently, that's the one Microsoft screwed up last October that they had to roll back. So I guess I won't be running the ray tracing 3DMark. Hahaha.
But 19431 on Fire Strike is one heck of a score. That's up in the 93% percentiles.
