April 1 2004. The day everyone could get 1 gig of free email space. The very next year they doubled it to 2 gig. I still remember my friend telling me of this and me not believing a email with a gig of space and free to boot lol.

I have around 4gb in email. Most of it is old garbage but there is no way to batch delete so until I sit down to delete I'm stuck with it.

Where are you all seeing the space used? I have over 21,000 emails but not seeing the space they take up or anything.

It's right at the bottom, bottom left. It should say something to the effect of:
x.xx GB (x%) of 15 GB used
Manage

That's on the desktop version at least.

Canada vs US? I've never done anything to get the mailbox size - it just slowly increases over time.

Dunno, It's just odd now that I think about it and I don't see any reason why it would be any different seeing as I've had other increases just like everyone else.

AFAIK I did nothing either. But I have been a member since beta or something. So maybe it added up.

I'm at 19gb. It was a reward for using their account security measures, twice.

Well, considering I'm at "0.54 GB (3%) of 15 GB used", I guess I'm okay for a while.

I thought I had a lot of emails. But apparently I can't hold a candle to most of you.

I remember before it launched when folks were selling beta invites on eBay. I was lucky enough to get one from someone here (thanks!) so my gmail address is <firstname><lastinitial>@gmail.com
