Rumors have it that NVidia is announcing a refresh of their 20x0 line tomorrow. Dubbed the "Super" line, it looks like the 2080 TI will get a new chip altogether, and some modified version of the current 2080 Ti chip will become the new 2080 Super and so on down the line.

I'm holding off on thinking about replacing my wife's PC for now - it would be nice to get in on a new generation.

Should I be hopeful this means the existing 20x0 cards will get a price drop at the same time? Or is this just going to be an extra extra premium line added on top of everything existing?

I heard about this a few weeks ago, thought it was already announced. It's there response to AMD's new cards. I'm leaning on the AMD card as will compete with the 2070 and cost about $50-$70 less but not have ray tracing, which doesn't matter to me.

It's rumored to be a replacement, but there should be price drops on the existing cards that are in the channel. The release is now scheduled for July 2, according to this article.

The most interesting thing so far is the 2060 getting 8GB / 256 Bit Bus. So basically almost the current 2070.

The 2060 super sounds encouraging. The AMD 5700XT is comparable to the non suped up 2070. The 2060 super is comparable to the non suped up 2070.

5700XT is $499
