I picked up Zombie Drive during last year's Xmas sale..pretty sure it was the same price. I liked it, but something about the game camera made me really, really nauseous after about 10 minutes of play. That usually only happens to me in some first-person shooters but apparently I wasn't alone. They issued some type of fix for it, but I haven't tried it since then. I probably should.

I'm kind of iffy on both of those.

The camera can be annoying in Zombie Driver (some people HATE it). You drive around and shoot and run over zombies. There's objectives like drive here and rescue some people, and there are cars to unlock and upgrades for those cars, but overall is a pretty simple game. It held my attention for a few missions, then I got distracted by other things (though, that's not too unusual for my habits), but I haven't had any desire to return to it.

Bob Came in Pieces is an interesting puzzler. You're a spaceship and you get parts to add to your ship- you need to put the ship together in ways that will get you through the levels (add a long pipe to to poke something through a hole, etc.). You need to map keys as you build- 'a' for left engine, for example, and as you change the ship you need to change the bindings which I found a little tedious. Also a poorly designed ship can get you stuck places- I remember once the whole thing was leaning to the right and I couldn't fly straight up like I needed to. (I think there's a way to go back to the last buildstation/checkpoint, but I can't recall for sure) But the game has its charm and some interesting ideas. Again I played it for a little bit and stopped but (unlike zombie driver) I've always had the best intentions to return to it someday, and sort of regret that I haven't yet.

Alternate Entry: To manually enter the Sweepstakes, each eligible entrant must print his or her name, address, city, state, country, postal code, email address, Steam account name, and telephone number, as well as the name of the Treasure Hunt objective that the entry is for, on a self-addressed 4x6 note card and mail the completed form to: Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. Note cards mailed in envelopes will not be accepted prior to December 15. Note cards mailed in envelopes and postmarked December 15, 2010 or later will be accepted. No e-mailed or faxed alternate entries are eligible. Facsimiles, photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entries will be void. An alternate entry must be postmarked during the applicable Treasure Hunt period to be eligible. To be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing, an alternative entrant must have entered at least 10 Treasure Hunt objective drawings and then provide an additional alternative entry for the Grand Prize Drawing, postmarked December 20, 2010. Alternate entries received after December 31, 2010 will not be eligible for any Sweepstakes. Each user may submit one alternative entry per Treasure Hunt objective. Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry. And no, alternate entries won't earn you any TF2 hats.

One good thing I'll say about Zombie Driver are they are supporting it with updates and new content. The treasure hunt objective for the game is in a new mode that wasn't in the game when it was originally released. I think one patch also added some tweaks to the camera.

To get this objective, you need to first get a bronze in another slaughter map, then you unlock the "city center" map and you need approx. a bronze score on this map for the objective. I had no trouble getting a bronze on those two maps, but I used the limo which is the 3rd car you can unlock in story mode. If you haven't played story mode yet, you'll only have the default taxi as your car.

I got 13, only need 2 more for the hat. Hopefully there will be something cheap if I don't already have 2.

Just need one more. Playing the stupid card game which was a poor choice of games to pick apparently as it's not quick to unlock. :grund:

I'm at 13 now, so I'm going for the 15 hat, but that one? It'd cost me about $100 in games.

Wow. While that one is kind of cool, all the hats are pretty silly/ugly. I've now lost all motivation to shoot for 15 achievements.

Oh nice I got two of those without even trying. Didn't realize I looked at so many demos.

I wound up with 20 out 28. Each one adds an extra chance in the bi-daily (?) drawing for 5 games on your wish list, so that's why I stuck with it past the 10 (or 15) items needed. And I only spent $5 to do it: only buying Chime and Flight Control HD. But, I guess that means I spent more money by buying a lot of these games before they were in this sale.

If I had any interest in RUSE, Mafia II, Empire Total War and CoD:Blops, I may have gone for the final hat, but I wasn't spending that amount of money on those games just for a contest.

15 and done. I'll log in for my 100 games tomorrow.

Amusingly, the recommended method for getting the Just Cause 2 achievement was exactly where my last save left off.

Don't forget to log in to Steam today so that you can have a snowball's chance in hell of winning 100 games! ;)

I think you have to just set yourself to online from the Friends tab.

Or hopping into a game of TF2 might work too. :)

Edit: All I did was click on the Steam icon, click on the treasure hunt banner and at the bottom it showed the checked box where it say I'd logged in.

If the client is logged in, you're counted.

I ended up with 11.

Only bought one game, L4D2 which was on my list anyway, and had one gifted to me, Chime.

In for my hundred. I ended up with 15. While there were a couple of demos or videos I watched that I might not have, I didn't spend any money on games I wouldn't have wanted anyway, or spend insane hours trying to grind some obscure achievement for it.

I bought Poker Night at the Inventory, Just Cause, Chime and Flight Control HD. Just cause was already on my list to get when the price dropped far enough. Poker Night I was keeping an eye out (mostly cause of the characters you play with. Hilarious) . Flight Control looked interesting enough for the price and Chime I got cause of the recommendations it got.

I got 13.

So, I was wondering why we needed to log in on the 20th to be entered. I was thinking, new deals? There are currently 1,044 specials listed.
