Bummer, no sale on the new Civ 5 expansion. Unless Steam happens to have it on sale, I'll have to bend over and pay full price.

Already proven wrong, so now I have no need to watch the Amazon sale. That's surprising.

Been digging through the list and I noticed that Gothic II Gold is on sale for $2.50 (no DRM). I'm not sure if that's the cheapest price the game has ever been, but if you missed it when it was originally out (I did), that's a tremendous value. Of course if your tolerance for the graphics is low, it might not work, but it's definitely a classic PC game. We had a dedicated thread in the PC gaming forum, but I'd recommend it without reservation. However, realize that the game doesn't hold your hand in any way and it's entirely possible to wander into places that you're fully incapable of surviving. Many times I ran for my life in Gothic II -- many times.

Not sure if this is the lowest price it's ever been, but Guild Wars II is now $33.49 via Amazon.

You can get the new Tomb Raider for $15 using that code -- and then just slap it into STEAM. Not a bad deal.

I was looking to get into Mass Effect and I had been watching the Steam Summer sale for I & II, but now I see that Amazon has the trilogy on sale for $20 + 15% discount = 16.99 + tax ($18.01 total).

The new Tomb Raider is $9.99 through Amazon Digital. Plug the code into STEAM and you're good to go.

Get the enhanced steam plug-in for your browser. It automagically tells you the historical prices on all games.

I'm sure I downloaded that before, but never noticed it. Is it only for the Steam website? I guess I never use that (I use the client) so that might explain why I never see the plug in results.

Yeah, I use both the website and client. I like the website because you can have multiple windows open which is alot faster when dealing with cards and inventory. It also gives you historical prices for all websites, not just Steam, so you can see lowest prices on Amazon, etc.

Seems like a good deal to me.

So Amazon Digital started their Countdown to Black Friday sales. Just from looking at the announcement page:

BioShock 1+2+Infinite for $15
Max Payne 3 + Season pass for $7
Walking Dead 400 Days for $1.25

Here's the full schedule through 12/2: http://slickdeals.net/f/6458990-starts- ... -many-more" target="_blank

The big news for some will be Batman:Arkham Origins for $20 and Total War:Rome 2 for $40. Others may find the fact that they go on sale on Turkey Day appropriate.

Close enough to free for me.
It says it activates on Steam, so I assume this should work just fine with the base game - already on Steam.

I don't know why but when I went to get Civ 5: Brave New World I was able to get it for $0.00. The price is listed as $14.99 but when I went to checkout it automatically applied a promotion and I ended up getting it for free. Not sure what promotion, but maybe Bioshock: Infinite or X-Com? Worth checking out if you don't have this already and have purchased any recent titles from 2K Games on Amazon.

I have about 5 hours into the game and would definitely recommend it for $10. I think I've played all other Tomb Raider games a total of five hours and this is just so different and not at all what I expected. Sort of a mix between Assassin's Creed (the climbing and lite puzzle solving) and Far Cry 3 (the environments and lite RPG crafting / leveling up). It's definitely been a great ride so far.

Assassins Creed 4 for $30, Xbox 360, PS3 and pC. Today only.

Its not bundled w/ Rocksmith even though it looks that way. They're being very sneaky.

Amazon's MAYhem sale is running now through the 31st, however some deals are only good for the next 24 hours.

Seemingly good prices on a few bundles, though at this point if you don't already own some of these games...I can't imagine a sale is going to entice you as I'm nearly certain they've been cheaper during other sales, individually.

The Poker Night at the Inventory games for a $1 each seem like a steal if that's your bag. Lots of DLC on sale as well.

Shit, I didn't notice that Origin was required. I just wasted $5. Although I got a $5 credit toward an android app and $1 credit toward an mp3 so maybe I came out ahead $1.

Was looking through and actually found a couple items, though I'd probably NEVER find time to play them:

XCOM: Enemy Within $9.89
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FEO ... 8028229011

Wargame Bundle $8.50 (includes Air Land Battle and European Escalation, one's a Steam Code, other may require direct download from Amazon)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HDP ... 8028229011

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 is $3.75
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G5J ... 8028229011

NZA 1 is also same price.

It's the end of summer sale - courtesy of Amazon. Ends 9/1. Going to start combing the deals and see what's good as the sorting list suggests over 300 digital games and/or DLC is up for grabs.

Metro: Last Light for $5
Company of Heroes 2 for $9.99
Alpha Protocol for $2.99
Sword of the Stars II Enhanced Edition for $3.99
Max Payne 3 for $5
Thief for $15

Batman Arkham City and Arkham Asylum for $5 each. Origins is $7.50 - all good deals.

All those are STEAM enabled, so you just punch the code into the client and you're good to go. Other than that Metro and Thief price, I'm not seeing anything that hasn't been similarly priced during other sales, but I guess if you're looking for something to do this weekend...

EDIT: Changed dating sim title

I've heard really good things from my one buddy about all the Metro games. I tried firing up Metro 2033 last night (hadn't touched it in 3 years) and remembered why -- no adjustable FOV and a ridiculous head bob. Had to grip my desk chair to stop from throwing up. I love the theme, I love the game play mechanics. I just don't know if all the Metro games will make me sick or if it's just the first one.

EDIT: Looks like the developers patched something in the summer to let you mess around with the game settings and manually figure out the FOV...which isn't working for me at all in 2033. I guess I can just skip this series too. Is it really that hard to add a slider bar in the settings menu?

Also: Tom Chick gave it 5/5 stars.

And it's getting a new paid version/update/redux, so that's why it keeps going for cheap now.

Head Bob you should be able to turn off in the menu, at-least in Last Light.

Normally, I wouldn’t defend a bad FOV, but the Metro games at least have an excuse. The Metro games are built around complete immersion; there is no interface to speak of. You have to count the bullets in your weapon clips, your objectives are viewed by holding a briefing document up to your face, and gas mask management is a vital part of the game. Example being, If your gas mask gets dirty or fogged up, you have to make your character reach up and wipe the front off.

I played with the modified FOV and the result is that your characters arms are cut at the back during quite a few of the animations. It didn’t bother me much because the rest of the game is amazing, but I can understand why the dev wouldn’t want everyone to see that.

Amazon just scooped STEAM and launched their Summer Digital Sale for gamers. Lots of things on general sale, but there's also apparently lightning deals...and they're not advertising the price until you click on the "See Deal" button. That's annoying. I'll try to update with any standouts (particularly if they require STEAM), but this could take a while. Feel free to jump in.

EDIT: Looks like the usual suspects. Dark Souls for $5. Assassin's Creed games $5. LEGO games $5. I guess if you have Amazon credits you can spend 'em, but outside of crazy timed deals (like CoD 37 Black Ops 2 for $20) I'm not sure there's anything earth shattering here. Call of Juarez for $3.75 is a good deal (STEAM) and I enjoyed it.
