Playstation Plus for February:

Vita:

Kick & Fennick
Rogue Legacy

PS3:

Rogue Legacy
Thief
Yakuza 4

PS4:

Transistor
Apotheon
Rogue Legacy

---------------------------------------------

Yay for Thief. It has been on my list for a while. Transistor doesn't catch my attention from the previews, but it won a double crapload of awards for 2014. Apotheon also doesn't look like the type of game I usually enjoy, but I've got to give it a try just for the Greek amphora art style.

Even betterer, 360 owners can now "purchase" free Xbox One games without owning an actual Xbox One, thus adding them to your library if you ever get one.

PS+ has been doing this for a while, and it is a great thing.

I know the PS4 catalog still isn't that large, but the crappy entries in the PS+ free games offer each month is still disappointing for the most part.

We're in the minority with that opinion it seems. I posted a month or two back on GT about how I was disappointed in the PS+ offerings recently and got lit up for it. Apparently people think they're great.

I think the PS3 offerings are usually pretty good. It's just the PS4 offerings I'm not a fan of. However, like I said, that can probably be chalked up to a much smaller catalog. Mostly PS4 owners are getting smaller indie games.

I absolutely agree. If you remove combo fighters and 2D side-scrollers/platformers (neither of which I care for), the PS4 hasn't gotten more than a couple of games. A copy-paste from my PS4 collection sheet, which is a probably-complete list of everything released on PS+ for PS4 since it starting including it:

Apotheon
Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Doki-Doki Universe
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Escape Plan
Fez
inFAMOUS First Light
Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition
Mercenary Kings (side scroller)
Outlast
Pix the Cat
Resogun
Road Not Taken
Rogue Legacy
Secret Ponchos
Spelunky
Sportsfriends
SteamWorld Dig
Strider
The Swapper
Titan Attacks!
TowerFall: Ascension
Transistor
Trine 2: Complete Story
Velocity 2X

GT is pretty anti Xbox and ps4 fanboy attitude heavy to the point of becoming unbearable. But both Sony and Microsoft have had pretty poor offerings for the current console generation. At first it was understandable but now it's getting a bit sad. I mean Microsoft has only had one major release on gwg by my count for xb1 and that was rayman last month.

Just Cause 2 is great, although I already have it. I might be excited about Thief if PS+ didn't just give it away a couple of months ago.

Anyway, for June:

-------------------------------

PlayStation 4:

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-a-Fide Edition
Super Exploding Zoo
Futuridium EP Deluxe

PlayStation 3:

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
Cloudberry Kingdom

PlayStation Vita:

Super Exploding Zoo
Futuridium EP Deluxe

-------------------------

I may fiddle around with Gunslinger. I may have heard some good things about it way back when, although that may have been something else. I may also give MGS a try, as I haven't played any of the series and am curious as to what I'm missing.

None of it makes me terribly excited, though.

Playstation Plus for October:

Vita:

Super Meat Boy
Broken Age
KickBeat
Kung Fu Rabbit

PS3:

Unmechanical: Extended
Chariot
KickBeat
Kung Fu Rabbit

PS4:

Super Meat Boy
Broken Age
Unmechanical: Extended

---------------------------------------------

I'm still not excited. Let's look at the same list with the side-scrollers/artsy 2d stuff removed:

Vita:

Broken Age
KickBeat

PS3:

KickBeat

PS4:

Broken Age

Two games, and KickBeat looks awful - it is just a rhythm toy.

I'm not sure what you mean by "toy". It's a rhythm game, and a rather good one at that.

Sigh...I really envy Xbox One owners some days.
The XBox offerings are even worse this month. Valiant Hearts was on PS+ six months ago and The Walking Dead has been available very cheaply many times. Plus, the two 360 offerings are worthless to XBOne owners because we already have the XBO versions of those games.

Yep. I gave it two months and then cancelled. Between my first Ipad and pc gaming my playtime had started to dwindle on it anyhow. I'll jump into the next gen once I they hit the $200 delta.
