Moon Plus Reader Pro is one of the most universal eBook readers on Android. I had an old version from Appgratis, but it's not the pro version. And the pro version has a lot of updates that makes it compatible with the latest formats. Choose background, fonts, formatting / layout, even ignore the built-in layout if you must, lock orientation (or not), change brightness, text-to-speech (i.e. read aloud) bookshelf, integration with Dropbox and various free eBook places, probably even the ones at your library. Highlighting and note taking. One of the better $2.50 I spent, IMHO, of course. On sale in August 2015.
