Happy Lunar New Year!

It takes seeing Google for me to remember holidays. Sad.

Anyway, welcome to the year of the Rooster!

Well, today is New Year's Day. I just don't like calling it Chinese New Year because it's not just the Chinese New Year.

I'll go with your time of the new moon though.

Cheerful New Year!
Welcome to the Year of the Wood Bird (Rooster).

From my experience, even though the new year actually began with the new moon yesterday, New Years Day is celebrated on the first full day after the new moon, a day in this instance being sunrise to sunrise, hence today being New Years Day.
