Think there would be any interest ina back to the basics game?
Timed no less... so like 1 game takes maybe a week. People will remember how fun they used to be before it was like playing 3-d chess

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
"Its your time, prisoner!" shouted a guard. Semaj stiffly rose and was dragged out of his cell. Shackled at the ankles Semaj is lead by guards down a dark corridor lit only by feeble torch light. The corridor opened into large dark chamber. In the middle of the chamber stood a small stage. On the stage was an man holding a large nasty axe and wearing a black hood over his face. The guard roughly shove Semaj to his knees and force his head onto a small stump.
"Do you have any things to say for yourself" asked the executioner.
"Wait, we aren't even playing a game here." responded Semaj, "You are just killing me for no good reason at all."
"Why yes, I am." said the executioner.
The axe came down and Semaj was no more. As his head fell from the body the last sight Semaj saw was Scoop20906 pulling off the hood of his head and saying, "Hope this occupies him for a while."

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
3 months is way too long, I doubt we'll wait that long (perhaps I'm just wishing?).
The one thing I would hope is that each person truly only signs up for a game when they sincerely know that they can contribute and very much want to play.
A trend I see, is people not posting because 1.there "isn't much to go on" OR 2.they don't want to risk being falsely accused.
#2 then feeds #1
IMO, That's just not the way to play these games. Things are only fun if everyone is out there and exposed and slinging posts back and forth. While playing the game 'in the shadows' is certainly a valid strategy, I fear it's beginning to morph into more of a game-killing passive play-style.
Personally, I am ready to play (I'm not all that "burnt out") - but if I don't sign up for a game, it's because I don't think I'd be able to play at the level I want all people to play at.
Random "Life Events" will always come calling for each of us, but do your best to look ahead to any scheduled and forecasted commitments and ask yourself if you will truly be able to give the game a read each day, and contribute in a way that makes everyone know you are there.
A game can often last a month, some a little longer - keep that in mind too.
... so, yeah... IN

Now, i got a question to ask? Why was Semaj killed? Has anyone ever thought to ask why or the reasoning for it? Yes it appears that scoop did in fact vote him off, but was scoop mind controlled? I mean who would want to off Semaj? I mean he hadn't really done much to offend anyone or make waves so far. Something to ponder

(in on whatever game is coming up next, i havent really played in about oh, 8 months or so -that one i was in back in Nov/Dec was an aberration for me and participation wise, so i dont count it, and yes I shall play this time around)

I'm taking a break, but from what I can gather you should have the numbers. I know Stess, Newcastle, Semaj, and Unagi are interested. So if you get just a few more you should be able to get a game going no problem. Sounds like a few more would jump in as well.Chaosraven wrote:Perhaps we should check for a Pulse of 8-10 players?

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
I can't play (work is still too busy), but I could host. Not nearly the commitment is required.
So two choices:
1)Simple game: 10 players: 2 wolves, 1 Seer, 7 Villagers
Either way, I'll run one if y'all want.
So two choices:
1)Simple game: 10 players: 2 wolves, 1 Seer, 7 Villagers
- Wolves can PM at anytime
- Lynch reveals alignment
- Time limits maximums: 72 hour "Days", 24 hour "Nights" (These are maximums - updates could happen sooner based on villagers)
- Lynch reveals "Good" or "Evil"
- Sorcerer wins with Wolf
- Sorcerer and Wolf reveal "Evil" on lynch
- 8 Villagers receive the name of someone who is not the Wolf (determined by Random.org -> duplicates allowed not everyone need be distributed)
- Sorcerer receives name of Wolf
Either way, I'll run one if y'all want.

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
option 2 sounds intriguing actually -
so what you are saying is that players 1-8 receive the name of a normal; it could mean that players 2-8 all receive a note saying that player 1 is innocent.
If a mass reveal happened, the wolves would probably also be able to say that player 1/2/3 is in fact an inncoent. So they could easily spoof it. Which simply prevents the mass reveal exploit.

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
The sorcerer also comes up as 'not wolf', so the 8 villagers will get a name that could be a non-normal.
(that's how I read it)
Yeah, the wolf can certainly name anyone as 'the name I got'.
Also, the sorcerer (who knows the wolf) has the option to pick anyone else as 'the name I got' - or, name his wolf, letting the wolf know that "Hey, that must be my buddy!".
With that in mind, any name reported as 'the name I got', can clearly not be trusted 100%.
Also, people that are not reported are not guilty of anything, as the names are random and can repeat - leaving some 'non wolves' from ever being shared.
The main tool is lynching someone, finding them 'good' - and then trusting their 'name I got'.

I'm not sure. I think it still makes the most sense for everyone to reveal on the very first day so that the logic puzzle is set up. Then it is a matter of the Sorcerer making as many gaps as possible and the Wolf hiding in them. Or at least that is what I envision. If a mass reveal happened, the wolves would probably also be able to say that player 1/2/3 is in fact an inncoent. So they could easily spoof it. Which simply prevents the mass reveal exploit.
In theory, Random.org could set it up so that after the Sorcerer and 1 Villager are lynched, everyone else is known.
All true.Unagi wrote:The sorcerer also comes up as 'not wolf', so the 8 villagers will get a name that could be a non-normal.

Something else I was thinking about - should the Wolf know the Sorcerer? I like ambiguity and always try to include it on the Wolfy side as well, but that might make it too hard for them to win.
So a few options:
1) Wolf and Sorcerer get to PM on Sunday Night only.
2) Wolf and Sorcerer get to PM at all times.
3) Wolf does not know Sorcerer, but if the kill order is the Sorcerer, there is no kill and the Wolf and Sorcerer can PM. (This is my personal preference.)
4) Other ideas?

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
just a suggestion, maybe you should open up a thread devoted to this, so we dont spam the waiting list.
And option 3 is also what I prefer. The only real hitch that I can see though, is if there is a mass reveal, and lets say everyone but 4 people are revealed as innocents (2 being wolves, 2 being random's chance) that really narrows down teh pool of suspects to an insane degree. Then, the wolves would have to take the chance and say that their buddy was an innocent, and if one of their lies are found out, the others is as well.

Then, the wolves would have to take the chance and say that their buddy was an innocent, and if one of their lies are found out, the others is as well.

Re: Waiting List- Paging sectoid
I'm dead and since I didn't see any games queued up I took the liberty of posting a game idea I have been thinking about in various ways for months now. It started out with people in an insane asylum trying to mess with each other medication to the Drinking with a Angel and Demon idea. Its a simple game, try to poison the other team. I expect it to be over rather quickly but there is a ton of RP potential and if everyone hates it, well at least it will be over quickly.

Re: Waiting List?
Games Proposed:
Sean MoKtSP - something wicked this way comes
Awaiting Mod Confirmation
04-[WW]Harvey Birdman - Case of the Closed Court...of Doom! - sectoid
Back Burner (Break Glass in Case of Emergency)
06 - [WW] OO JLA the Mystery - Chaosraven
Dead Mans Hand - Chaosraven
-----------------
Are there others out there?
I would love to revisit a couple of the odder setups we've had in the past, and would like to perhaps have a What I'd like To See In Werewolf Thread for people to kvetch and admire bits and pieces and perhaps discuss modifications.

"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.
