Re: SI PBEM Game 2 AAR
"Ah, this Stronghold seems to suit my nefarious purposes. Now where are my minions? My twenty-six legions...
It is time to bind all of Hell under a new infernal Covenant. Bow before my powerful and terrible might now, and my heel shall press ever so less upon your spine for the rest of eternity."
Thus spoke the master, Zarathud, as he sent forth the messenger to the Conclave.

Yeah, it's really painful. Here I thought an AAR thread would be a good idea...

Son of a...still learning the game, still reading the manual.
I'll get in on the next one, hopefully.
LM, the only reason I didn't lose as much sleep as you is that I don't understand some of the game mechanics and it was too late to sit and just read the manual.
This game is the only one where I brought the laptop to bed and played right before sleep time with southpark on in the background. I've never played a computer game in bed before. Not sure if this is progress or regression. Either way, fun game. Different.

Re: SI PBEM Game 2 AAR
That was me all last week and weekend. I finally found some time to start experimenting and asking questions coming in to last weekend. I'm still not fully clear. I don't have rituals down at all which I am sure will be the death of me in a people game. I don't fully grasp artifacts and relics and when they get placed where. When are effects universal and when are they on specific legions? But I've got enough to go on I think. I'll be up for the next round of game as well. I figure I could one to three turns of up to three games a day pretty well.GreenGoo wrote:LM, the only reason I didn't lose as much sleep as you is that I don't understand some of the game mechanics and it was too late to sit and just read the manual.

Re: SI PBEM Game 2 AAR
Artifacts can only get attached to legions, and affect only that legion. Relics can only get attached to Places of Power or a ritual slot, and will only start giving their bonuses when in one of those two places.

Yeah, this is going to be tough not reading the spoilers here, but I shall prevail! I'll write something up tonight to give the viewing public my initial stats/ideas of what I'm going to try to do.

And the game is a foot. I'll post my guy when I find a host clean things up, which probably won't be tonight. Dinner is on and I am probably going to watch football but I'll still process turns as I get them.

Yes, these AARs are much more entertaining to read when you can read the spoilers.

Re: SI PBEM Game 2 AAR
OK I have everyone's turn. They are all in the the ..\My Documents\SoliumInfernumGame\MultiPlayerSaves\OOPBEM2 folder. When I go to end the turn, none of them show up so I can't advance the turn. I am shown as the only player with a check mark and it a message window under game status says "Wrong turn: Player name"
I'm off to look things up on their forums, I guess.
Edit: nothing on the forums that I could find.
Edit: I went to go post exactly what I said here on their forums but I have to wait for administrative approval to post on their website. Sorry guys.

I am running 1.4a. Thanx for forwarding the post. I got my confirmation this morning. I'll check by there as soon as my workday settles in a little.Archinerd wrote:I posted on your behalf. -on vic's forums.
edit again: are you using the latest patch?
Edit: Helpful forum members. Someone else had the same problem. Said that he had all his players upgraded to 1.4a, resave their turns and resubmit them and everything was OK.
Sorry to make launching the game a pain. We almost got a full turn in and everything yesterday.
What's greed do again?Kelric wrote:I knew I should have taken Greed!

It was my avatar. Now I just have to worry about the Stygian Warriors or whatever they're called. I chose the moniker Mortis way back when because it was a persona for comic book that me and some friends were playing around with in high school. Our comic book was called Stygian Shore. So the naming convention is a weakness of mine even if the unit sucks.

Re: SI PBEM Game 2 AAR
I just thought of something. Do you have any previous .trn files from us? I've been overwriting the .trn files in the game I am hosting. The Process Turn screen only sees the latest files from my players even if their previous .trn is still in the folder.

One moment while I check my email.
That is probably the problem. I think firefox sees that the old files exist, doesn't write over them and makes new ones. What a pain. Having never run a game before, I just assumed that was how it was supposed to work. I'll go home during lunch and try and redo everything.
First turn bugs. Once I get in the rhythm It'll all be good.

Dare I guess I might the the treacherous one in question? I personally didn't really want that PoP, but my people... they demanded it, and I'm not the type of demon to let down my people. And by "my people" I mean "my sycophantic flagellants".Zarathud wrote: Treachery!
