Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
I posted about this in the first SI AAR thread, but I thought I'd bring it into a new thread, especially since ideally this would turn into an AAR eventually as well. Having finished Dragon Age last week I finally turned to figure out how to play SI. Now I kind of sort of know how (poorly), so I'm up for a PBEM game. Who else is in?
Zarathud PM'd me earlier. So right now our line up is:
me
Zarathud
ZOD
Toxo
Sepiche
NickAragua
Incidentally, I'm going to preemptively call for a separate forum for SI PBEM games.

Wish I could join, but I'm in three already and am having trouble keeping the different games straight as is. A fourth would just confuse the hell out of me.
I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

I'll join, I'm currently in (just) one, and I really want some more SI time than I'm getting.
Plus I'm dead last in the other game

I'm in 2, both of which seem to be stalled. I'm tempted to jump into this one, but I'll be tied up with my Home Shows for the next 3 weeks so it will have to wait.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.

Cool, I've added Zod, before whom I shall not kneel. So where do people find SI games (other than here, obviously)?

If you haven't started and aren't full before I get a new PC then I'm in but I wouldn't want you to wait on me. I'm still waiting for confirmation that my machine has been ordered from Dell. But I might run up Best Buy today and see if they have anything comparable at comparable prices post Christmas. If they do then Dell might lose from having been too slow.

I'm in if I have a day or three to get an intarweb connection that doesn't involve stealing a neighbor's unsecured wireless signal. Now I just hope they aren't logging my keystrokes...

This is tempting, but I'm going to have to pass, I have a feeling that the 4 games I am are all going to suddenly be very active very soon...
I look forward to reading the spoiler tags.

I'll jump in - I'll grab the game once I've got a handle on how to play the demo (should be within a day or two).

Re: Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
Ok, great - looks like we have our lineup, per above. Zarathud has already PM'd me his e-mail address; the rest of you (ZOD, Toxo, Sepiche, & NickAragua) should PM me to let me know which e-mail address you would like me to use.
Tonight I'll look through the "setting up the game" materials, but it doesn't seem too complicated. I'm moving tomorrow, but I should be able to get the game set up later this week (probably Wednesday night or Thursday) if that works for people.

Ok, I've got everyone's e-mail address right now except for Sepiche's.
Also, does anyone have any preference as to the map we use? I was thinking the mountain one - Dante's Peak, IIRC - but I'm fine with whatever.

Sure. That map would help to keep the different games clear for those in another PBEM game.

Re: Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
Hey, so invites are out. I set up the game, and it generated invite files for me to send out. I e-mailed them to each of you a few minutes ago. I'm not sure how it works - how you use them to join the game, but hopefully it should be intuitive. Post here if there are any problems.
The game name is MountainUnderlords. Normal map size, uncommon PoPs, normal game length - the default set up, basically (with the mountain map).

Re: Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
You put the files in the MultiplayerGames - NewGames start folder. Then run the game and pick 'MountainUnderlords' in the multiplayer games ection, and load up your avatar.
Once you pick the avatar, it creates a new folder in the MultiplayerGames folder called 'MountainUnderlords.' The .trn file in that folder is what you send to the game host every round. The gamehost will generate a game file every turn he sends back out, and it's copied back into the MultiplayerGames-MountainUnderlords folder.

Re: Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
Turn #4 is out.
Nick's building himself an early lead, as he seizes the Temple of Lust, bolstering his prestige and bringing himself up to a +3 prestige (I believe no one else is above +1 right now). But the game is young!

The last thing I got from you (turn 4) was Thursday 4:00 and I sent it back.
Do you need it again, or did I not get five?
*nevermind, I see I didn't send it back -- it's in the mail.

Re: Solium Infernum - PBEM the Third
The gamble fails! My Slaves have been killed in combat with the City of Dis! I lost the "combat advantage" phase which led to a "non-zero" bonus to one of the City's combat stats: +2 to Infernal -- just enough to kill my Legion. If combat had cycled back to Ranged, I would have won:
Bring me another Slave, this one has been well-used. And clean up this bloody mess.
