I think I joined GG in 1999. I was definitely lurking by then. I may even have done one or the other or both before that. But, yeah... this is a long time on the 'net.

I took the plunge. Soon Ironrod will become Kraken.

Out of curiosity, does my login stay the same?

Your password won't change, but you'll need to use your new username to log in.

Also, I think you posted this in the wrong thread.

It was late and I was drunk. At least I hit the right forum.

Wow, reading Peacedog's history post really brought back a lot of memories. I'm not on here anywhere as much as I used to be at Gone Gold or at OO at the start, but I still do come by and post from time to time.

Impressive job, Peacedog! :)

Yeah, good one.

This is a bit off topic, but you should check out the BBS Documentary. Free clips at Archive.org.

And a belated welcome!

During the last year of GG, there were several threads where discussion veered into the area of "nature/intelligence of humans." Inevitably someone would mention that an octopus had been observed opening a pickle jar. This fact was always followed by a statement to the effect of fearing our octopus overlords. I'd always assumed that the name of this place had some spiritual connection to those threads.

I'll return to my blissful ignorance...

That's a first for me. A drive-by posting.
