I got Sam and Max, even though I've never finished the first season, let alone the second.

Alpha Protocol is a steal at that price.

Note that the promotion is that a few people every day receive the top five items on their wishlist.

I don't use a wishlist on Steam, but decided it would be prudent to add five items, just in case.

I'm down 20 bucks already, after picking up Alpha Protocol, Borderlands, and the Deus Ex Collection. Gonna be an expensive holiday season  .

I saw some raves on Alpha Protocol, so I bit on that one. For Borderlands, I'm going to bide my time until the GOTY edition makes it lower in price. While the base game is $10, it's still $50 for either that or the game + four DLCs individually.

Or maybe I'll just rent it on the XBox...

Yep, you need 10 in your list to qualify, if you are one of the 30 daily winners you get your top 5 choices. You can rearrange your choices after you have filled out your list. Preorders are valid as long as Steam has the game in it's database.

How do you reorder a wish list? I've added things to get to 10 just for the chance of winning but I can't seem to put them in the order I want.

There should be an "edit wishlist" button underneath your list.

Today's deals:
Eve Online: Tyrannis $5
Defense Grid: Awakening $2.50
Cities XL 2011 $30
DeathSpank $10
Indie Story Pack $5
AudioSurf $2.50
Batman: AA GOTY $10.20
Kane & Lynch 2 $5

Getting the Indie Story Pack. Is the GOTY of Batman worth it if you have the regular steam version?

That's a fantastic deal for that indie pack. And Yet It Moves is a cool platformer with a twist (sorry  ), Recettear is a cool mashup of a store game with a dungeon crawl, and Gish is another neat platformer (although I never got very far into it).

So I already own those 3, but I'm still wondering if it's worth getting the pack to get Puzzle Agent for $5- that'd be half off it's normal price. The 5th, Jolly Rover, I've never heard of before, and I can't say I have any interest in now- looks like a poor man's Monkey Island.

I'm also considering Batman. I own it for PS3, and never finished it. I'm thinking I might actually finish it if I had it on PC.

Picked up the indie story pack as well. I've been wanting Reccattear and Puzzle Agent anyway, and I've heard nothing but good things about And Yet It Moves and Gish. Jolly Rover, as crazy as it sounds, has actually received really good reviews.

Buy Defense Grid now! I usually have something negative to say about every game, be it AAA or budget indie. And I finish probably one out of every 20 games I buy. But this one I completed, and the only negative thing I can say about it was that it ended so soon!

If the tower defense genre appeals to you in the least, buy it. I'm actually not a big fan generally, but Defense Grid was just an incredible amount of fun. As some review put it, it's the only tower defense game out there worth paying for.

after reading this, my mind flipped back and forth between darth vader saying, "i am your father" and gold member talking about austin power's fahza.

i apologize.

oh, back on topic, i went for the indie pack. i tried the demo for recettear and liked it . . . just not $20 liked it. $5 works for me.

Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box - 14.99
Dawn of War 2: Gold - 13.60
Mechanarium - 5.00
Tropico 3 Gold - 7.50
Torchlight - 5.00
Empire Total War - 14.99
Arma II Operation Arrowhead - 19.99
Blur - 14.99
Indie Clever Pack - 4.99 (Doc Clock Toasted Sandwich of Time, Eufloria, Iron Grip Warlord, VVVVVV, World of Goo)

Fighting Force x 10 - 7.49
Portal x 6 - 14.99
Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising x 8 - 39.99
Empire Total War x 6 - 59.99

What's the more enjoyable racer? Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box or Blur? They're both $15. I'm tired of Flatout: Ultimate Carnage.

Sell me on The Indie Clever Pack. Already have World of Goo. VVVVVV is fun to watch videos of, but seems like it would be an exercise in frustration to play. Iron Grip: Warlord is budget FPS + RTS. Meh. Doc Clock looks inventive but somewhat of a thinker and the art style doesn't appeal to me. Eufloria is beautifully artistic, but is it fun to play? Not tempted so far, but it is only $5.

I've been playing the heck out of Burnout Paradise on the PS3 lately, but I'm still tempted to get it on Steam. It's a fun open city racing game with a ton of cars to unlock, superjumps to find, lots of shortcuts and alternate routes to take. Only a couple drawbacks I can think of - It can be a little overwhelming at first when you don't know the city and you start a race that sends you all the way across the map, and I don't think that the Big Surf Island DLC ever made it to the PC which is a shame because that area is so much fun. But it's so much fun to just drive around and crash into stuff which you can do at any time.

I don't know how it compares to Blur, since I haven't played that one- but at that price I may find out soon.

I think I'm sold on the indie pack- I've already got World of Goo (just like EVERYONE should already); I played the demo of Eufloria and it had some neat ideas, but the difficulty seemed pretty high as soon as I got past the tutorial (or that could have been my fault, missing some key game element); VVVVVVV I played the demo and it WAS an exorcise in frustration but may be fun in small doses; I know nothing about the other two, but for $5, I really don't have much to lose if I don't like them.

EDIT: Blur first impressions: This game as a weird disconnect between using real world cars and unrealistic power ups. It looks pretty good, and the first car I used felt good and responsive. I'd say I've got a slightly ok positive impression of it, but if faced with a choice, I'd rather be playing Burnout Paradise.

DoW II: Gold is awfully tempting at $13.60, but not tempting enough to make it onto my backlog. Already own Torchlight (backlog) and Empire: TW. Machinarium will be cheaper at Christmas, I think. Picked up Tropico 3: Gold to help with my city builder craving.

BTW, Alpha Protocol may be the best $7.50 I've spent in a long time. What a great game.

Picked up the stand alone GTA4 DLC. The deal really isn't all that great-- you can pick up a hard copy of Amazon right now for under $17-- but I've wanted to play these for awhile, and I've spent 10 bucks on a lot worse.

Haven't seen anything that made me want to buy it yet.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

I think you are making a mistake. I got the DLC for $3.50ish on a sale before. I would not expect a combo until another DLC for a Gold edition.

It'd just sit in my epic backlog anyways. Tropico 3 I wanted to play now, Supreme Commander 2 is more of a purchase for future playage.

I strongly recommend L4D2; it's well worth $5 if you play the multiplayer mode. I'm still playing it a year after it was released.

Otherwise, nothing interests me today, except maybe the indie pack.
