Steam says that Dawn of Discovery uses TAGES and has a 3 machine limit.

Any reason to track down Supreme Commander 1 before playing 2?

I did notice that the current Steam deal does not include the Battle Pack DLC, as an fyi. Another 2.5 bucks for that, if you want it. Down from a regular price of 10 bucks, looks like.

I think I've read people write Supreme Commander 1 was the superior game. All I know is that at that price, 2 almost hooked me even though I own 1 and haven't played it.

I thought this was going to be an expensive day for me. But I've managed to talk myself out of everything.

Command and Conquer 4 is also only $5. Tempting, even though it got pretty lukewarm reviews. Heck, I don't even recall if I finished Tiberium Sun (and I most certainly did not play Tiberium Wars (which is strangely more expensive at $7.50). I was a huge fan of the original though.

I think the main criticism of C&C4 isn't that it was a bad game but that it was nothing like the previous installments. The fact that it was also billed as the final chapter meant that people were not satisfied with the way it closed out the storyline of Kane.

Well, I picked up C&C 3 and 4 along with Supreme Commander 2. I just dug up my Command and Conquer: The First Decade DVD and will play through Tiberium Sun first. Surprisingly, the graphics aren't THAT bad, but then again, it's only 10 years ago it was released.

Hey I own C&C 3 . Can I register it on Steam and download it on there? Or am I stuck using the DVDs and having to find the patches?

unfortunately no. You must have a steam registration key to add it to steam. I tried this once with a game I had that was also available on Steam, it just adds a shortcut to your Steam game list but when you click the link it still asks for the CD to be in.

Supreme Commander 1 is the better game, but it's not as accessible as SC2.

Steam doesn't seem to carry it, but I'll keep a look out for it in the future.

Pulled the trigger on Graxia and Supreme Commander 2.

Only 2 days left in the holiday sale, I think.

A very odd game. Fun for the novelty factor alone.

Gameplay is not bad either, but the FPS melee takes a bit of getting used to. Not very long but of satisfactory length.

It's a FPS, but focuses mainly on melee combat. The gameworld and story are very unique and incredibly bizarre. I tried the demo ages ago and came away lukewarm, but have always wanted to try the full game. For $3.50, why not?

This Steam sale is absolutely killing me. Grabbed the Jedi Knight pack and Guardians of Graxia yesterday, and will probably get AaaaaAAAAAAhhhh, Zeno Clash, and Divinity II today. I'm scared to look at my final haul when this thing is all said and done. No idea when I'm actually going to play all this stuff I bought!

It was pointed out that the Mafia 2 DLC is also 75% off, so I may as well grab that. You know, in case I wind up playing Mafia 2 at some point.

Stupid backlog.

Are the two main DLCs (Joe's Adventure and Jimmy's Vendetta) both worth it?

I'm interested in this question as well. I picked up Mafia II last week from Amazon for the same price that Steam is selling it for today, and I'm nearing the end of it... just a couple more chapters to go. While it is extremely linear and pretty simplistic, I've really enjoyed the story, acting and presentation. The atmosphere and setting are especially strong. For $12.50, I don't think you can go wrong.

Is the DLC basically just more missions?

I'm also looking at Divinity II today as I've heard great things about it, but I was hoping for more of a discount. Whether I get it or not may be a "game time decision". Get it? "Game" time?? Ack.

Jimmy's Vendetta is more like Free Ride with missions you get to choose. Limited choice, but each mission unlocks another one.
Joe's Adventure has a story with cutscenes, but has selectable missions once you get past the intro.

Seriously contemplating getting the deluxe edition just for the extras (since I already got the game from Amazon)...

A very good game.

I would think the sale ends at 1pm eastern Monday with the recap day being Sunday. I think that is how it has worked in the past.

Nothing under today's recap deals, though for some reason it looks like the Stalker (if it is that?) and GTA deals are coming up as not available in my region. Later today after football I'm going to go back through the Steam catalog and look for anything interesting.
