Grabbed Amnesia since I missed it first time around. In all, Steam only got me for a little over $10. I consider myself lucky!

I admit I'm a little surprised that Borderlands isn't part of the recap. For some reason I was semi-confident it would be back.

Well, there's the GOTY 4 pack, which works out to less than 20 bucks a person. Any interest?

I wasn't so lucky. I knew Santa (my wife/mother/mother-in-law) would be giving me plenty of dull necessities for the new house this Christmas (like a new coat, boots, barbecue tools, etc) so I splurged on more Steam sale titles than I know what to do with...

Aliens Vs. Predator
Amnesia
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Bully
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Divinity II
Fallout: New Vegas
King Arthur
Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands
Recettear
Settlers 7
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

What I'd like to do is start playing them right now! What I have to do is clean up the house from the Christmas vacation tornado.

Well, I broke down and added Mafia 2 + DLC to my holiday list.

Mafia II + DLC
Arma 2
King Arthur Pack
Overlord Complete Pack
Elven Legacy Collection
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Alpha Protocol
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Armed and Dangerous
FEAR Complete Pack (NA)

For the price of 1 1/2 new games I ended up with 13 games, a couple of expansions, and a ton of DLC. That will be enough to keep me busy for quite a while.

I also picked up a few Steam items as gifts for a friend far away.

Heh. I used the same excuse/justification. 7 sweatshirts and the one DVD set I specifically asked for was my Christmas loot this year. (I was wishing for something tablet-sized and electronic-like)

So I wound up with:

Super Meat Boy 3.75
Lego Batman 4.99
The Polynomial 2.50
Puzzle Quest 1.50
Mass Effect 2 9.99
Flatout 0.75
Flatout 2 1.00
Sim City 4 4.99
Mount & Blade Warband 7.49
Protogalaxy 2.49
Section 8 4.99
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 29.99
Divinity II - Dragon Knight Saga 19.99
Ion Assault 2.50
Fairie Solitare 2.50

Sherlock Holmes Complete Pack 13.45
…vs. Jack the Ripper
…Nemesis
…and Secret of the Sliver Earring
…The Awakened
…Mystery of the Mummy
…Mystery of the Persian Carpet

Broken Sword Trilogy Pack 8.47
…Shadow of the Templars
…The Smoking Mirror
…The Sleeping Dragon

Indie Flight Pack 5.00
...Dog Figher
…Everyday Shooter
…Flotilla
…Guns of Icarus
…Gratutious Space Battles

Total - 126.34
32 games; approximately $3.95 per game

I better get playing if I want to clear my backlog before Portal 2 comes out...

$5 damages for me...Got the King Arthur game, seems pretty fun so far, but have barely scratched it.

Was tempted by witcher, but didn't pull the trigger. Otherwise it was Dawn of Discovery, but thought for 20 bucks it was too much (i think it was on sale for 20, might have been 15).

$20 for a Steam sale is not a great price... but Dawn of Discovery is worth whatever you pay for it. Fantastic game.

i'll keep that in mind. it was kind of tempting, and was thinking about it. but hte price turned me off for a sale. I will say my preliminary impressions of my purchase of King Arther, i am pleased with it. Will be on the lookout in the future for dawn of discovery.

Well, I'd been good until today. Ended up getting Amnesia the second time around (after being seriously tempted the first time, and having it in my cart), Civ 4 Complete (was going to get anyways, but was holding out for the great deal which never materialized), and Dawn of War II: Gold (which I'd been eyeballing for awhile, and did a final check and saw it at $20). A friend also gifted me Plants v. Zombies.

Now, to complete the games I bought last year. Ouch. Damn Steam Sales coercing the 'shiny' lust in my heart. I'll probably get to one or two of these by next Christmas... (ok, well, maybe I'll be playing Amnesia in October).

Still is. It only allows for 3 machine activations. Thanks Ubisoft.

Is this the lowest price we have seen for Amnesia? I can't keep up with these rapid fire sales, and re-sales, and price changes DURING sales!

I had a $50 budget going into this, and I managed to keep it. The only game I didn't get that I wanted was RUSE.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent $6.80
Batman: Arkham Asylum $7.50
Dead Space $6.80
DiRT 2 $5.00
FlatOut $.075
Guardians of Graxia $3.25
Plants Vs Zombies $4.00
Tropico 3: $6.00
Zeno Clash $3.75

Total: approx. $44.00

Right on the money, if you count Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic (from GoG) $6.00

Searching through some forums online, it looks like some people (but not everyone) is saying that you gain an activation each month, to a maximum of 3. Which, if true, isn't too bad (until the activation server is turned off)

Nothing on Steam for me to end the sale. Victoria 1 Complete was tempting, but I have plenty of similar games in the backlog. Still need to see if anything on GoG or Impulse catches my eye, but I don't think so.

$9.99 - Just Cause 2 + Prima Strategy Guide
$9.77 - BF:Bad Company 2, CivCity: Rome, MLB 2K10
$22.78 - Recettear, Railworks 2, couple Indie packs
$7.50 - Alpha Protocol
$7.74 - Tropico Reloaded (1 & 2), Tropico 3 Gold
$9.99 - Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum
$4.99 - Stalker Bundle

Total damage: $72.76 for 25 games. Not bad considering the number of recent big name games in there. The only one I missed out on was the Brothers in Arms bundle. I'm sure that will come up again. Probably before I get through even half of this list. :P

It would be nice to find a nice simple multiplayer game I could play with friends thats on sale at Steam. Something maybe boardgame-like (maybe light strategy?) thats not too long and has low system requirements. Supports, a few players (say, somewhere in the range of between 2-5? And preferably cheap. Any suggestions?

Mass Effet 2 (gift)
King Arthur Pack $5.39
Crysis Complete pack $10
Grand Ages: Rome Gold
Hegemony
EU3 Complete $12 altogether

$27.39 for half a dozen games, plus the gift. Works for me.

Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich
Freedom Force
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Puzzle Quest
Lara Croft GOL
Armed and Dangerous
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
Assassin's Creed II
Wings of Prey
Alpha Protocol
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Darksiders
King Arthur Pack
Sam and Max: The Devils Playhouse
Overlord II
Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum
Mount and Blade Complete
Civ V DLC Double Civ Pack
Jack Keane
Mata Hari
Hinterland
Dracula Origin (EU)
Broken Sword - Trilogy pack
Secret Files: Tunguska
Plants vs. Zombies
NBA 2K11
Mafia II
Amnesa: The Dark Descent

I'll take a look at that. I was actually contemplating the Dark Elves version of Blood Bowl, since it looks like it's based on a board game (although it doesn't seem to be quite as good as the Legendary Edition, andlooks like it's only 2 players)

I got all the Mafia 2 DLC including the pre-order packs for a little under $8 and Arma II for $10. I'm almost through with one of the DLCs and it's already worth more than I spent. I've only done part of the tutorial for Arma II but I'm already thinking I paid too much. Nothing else caught my eye.

I too laughed at the game's title and thought it sounded like fun. But then I wondered if Chris Hanson was going to show up while I was playing and skipped the purchase. Do post impressions and any updates if you're interviewed / incarcerated.

Any suggestions?

Greed Corp?

I'll take a look at that. I was actually contemplating the Dark Elves version of Blood Bowl, since it looks like it's based on a board game (although it doesn't seem to be quite as good as the Legendary Edition, andlooks like it's only 2 players)

Too bad you didn't get into our Solium Infernum games - it sounds like just what you're looking for.

Well, apart from the cheap bit (I was thinking under $5, and preferably on Steam). Also, is play-by-email the only multiplayer? I'd rather play live.

What would have been ideal would have been an online version of Peurto Rico or Powergrid or Battlestar Galactica the board game.

Just noticed that Borderlands GOTY is sitting at $29.99 on Steam, whereas it was showing as $49.99 during the holidays, when not on sale.

Still more than I want to pay for it, but getting closer. If it was $19.99 I would have caved.

I hate the way Steam handles these things. I bought the regular version around release (part of a 4 pack). When I go to the GOTY now, it says I already own it and won't let me buy it.

I'll wait for the DLC pack to drop but geez, all this because of that stupid Duke Nukem access thing. I'm pretty sure Duke is why they "grandfathered" regular Borderlands to GOTY minus the GOTY perks.

Check and see if you already have the DLC (eg, the way I ended up with the Oblivion DLC)

Interesting. I had a similar issue when trying to add the GOTY edition to my wishlist. It would add the base game (without any DLC) and that was that. I couldn't figure out a way to get the GOTY on the list, so I just gave up.
