13 games finished in 2010...down five from the previous year, but i think that's partly due to spending a lot of time on longer games over the past year. looking back at last year's list shows that i spent one full month with Mass Effect 2, two months on FF-XIII, and about six weeks on Dragon Age:Awakenings. that's a third of the year spent on three RPGs...all great games that i really enjoyed, but they took up a lot of my time. we'll see how this year turns out...

Completed:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PC): Great game, the boss fights suck but I absolutely enjoyed the game.
R.U.S.E (PS3)
Call of Duty: World at War (PC): Not a good game- I really only played through the last 6-7 levels to be able to check it off ...)
Battlefield Academy (PC): This is actually really good - easy to play but a lot of fun!)

Bump to add Mirror's Edge. I enjoyed it a lot, but it was also horribly frustrating in parts - particularly as I was role-playing it a little and did the pacifist/don't shoot anyone achievement.

04-25-11 "M.I.A.: Mission In Asia". A budget shooter from Russian developer/publisher Games Factory Interactive using a decent open source 3D engine. Fun shooter. Only 5 levels, and reminds me of the same engine and design used in "Specnaz 2". Waves of enemies make the levels seem longer than they are, although overall level design is good. GamersGate has it for $20. I got it there on a sale for half that, which is about right for this game. ***

05-08-11 "Terrorist Takedown 3". Another City Interactive budget shooter. 7 missions long. Not quite up to their usual standard, which is only middling anyway. **

05-18-11 "Velvet Assassin". Been a long time since I completed a full-length title. Wasn't expecting much from this one, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good, in spite of a few really bad flaws (linearity and puzzle-like gameplay-i.e. the game was pretty specific in how it wanted you to accomplish goals at times, but not always). That it succeeded in drawing me into its world tells me that what it did right was really good. Good sneaking and silent kills. Good graphics didn't hurt either. Maybe 20 hours gameplay. Because the gameplay was compelling to me, I'm scoring this rather high. ****

07-10-11 "Operation Thunderstorm". Yet another City Interactive budget shooter. This one a Nazi shooter which I believe is actually the fourth or fifth game the Mortyr series. I didn't count missions, but it seemed like this one was longer than most of City's other games. Competent design all-around. Mostly very linear indoor locations. City does much better with games that take place outdoors. I wish they would do more of those. ***

11-06-11 "Battlefield: Bad Company 2". Single-player campaign. Enjoyed it very much. Less linear than most SP FPS games these days. Played through the entire game with sniper rifle in-hand, and it's a great game for a sniper. 13 missions, maybe 13 hours total on the entire thing. Lots of places are explorable, but only to an extent. Far too many invisible walls and places you're not allowed to go. Still, I enjoyed it enough to give it-- ****1/2

Finished Force Unleashed 2 last night. That game was a blast. Nothing too flashy, but it's just a ton of fun to mow down endless storm troopers with a lightsaber. And they did a good job of taking out the horrendously aggravating parts of the first game, except for the last level where they not only put in a jumping puzzle like the first game, but a horrendously repetitive jumping puzzle at that. But that was fairly brief, at least.

Here's to me, doing a great job of not paying attention to the thread I pushed so hard for way back when. So, then, me:

PC
*
System Shock 2
Dragon Age: Origins (+numerous DLC)
Call of Duty: Black Ops

*A lot (a lot) of my PC gaming this year has been spent in multiplayer games (WoW, LotRO, STO, Black Ops, Bad Company 2, WoT.)

Xbox 360

Assassin's Creed
Halo 3
Halo 3: ODST
Halo Reach
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

I actually played relatively few games this year, and the list of those I "finished" is particularly short:

Finished:
Portal
Assassin's Creed 2
Bioshock
Bioshock2
The Witcher

Ongoing but may or may not play anymore:
Civ World on Facebook
Drakensang Online
Hellgate: London

I've actually got a bunch of unplayed games on deck in Steam. Just don't have the time or interest to play them. Though I think I'll make an exception when the next Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood, I believe, is the next in the series that I haven't played) goes on sale and I can pick that up cheaply.

Damn, I'm completely shocked by how much free time some of you guys have. I buy about 6 to 8 games a year and never finish any of them! I thought I was a real "hardcore" gamer, at least compared to the folks I know in "real life" but on this board I don't know if I can even be considered a PC gamer at all.

Anywho, this year I bought:

Fallout 3 GOTY edition
Panzer Corps
Mount and Blade with Fire and Steel
X3: Terran Conflict
Space Rangers 2 Complete
Might and Magic: Heroes VI
Skyrim
All of the X-Com games
World of Tanks

I enjoyed them all, but Skyrim is the clear winner of my personal GOTY award...

Well, I don't know if you are referring to me or not, but some of the games on my list are pretty short (1-3 hrs). Also, some of the games were "finished" this year, but started last year, Mass Effect 2 being the one I can think of off the top of my head.
