How could they not? As I said, I was getting compliments on it. How could I get compliments if I didn't take it out of the apartment and parade it around town? Sure, I was basically ripping off Weekend at Bernies, but I like to think that I put my own little spin on the outing. Especially the part where I dressed him up as Barney and scared all those school kids by dropping him from the overpass in front of their bus.

This L.A. episode had more of a Leonard Elmore style quality to it; especially when Raylan told the two hired hitmen their choices of leaving town, getting killed next time Raylan sees them or just dying in the car right then and there. Later, the scene when the hitman tries the usual "Let's talk about this..." and - against Raylan's warning - takes another step and is promptly shot. Wasn't the dentist Ferris Bueller's friend? Let my people go....

Didn't Deputy Brooks use the word JUSTIFIED in episode 3? I thought I heard it in there.

The best thing about this show is the writing. It's hilarious stuff. I'm not sure how much is lifted from Elmore Leonard and how much is original, but whatever the case it's some snappy and entertaining dialogue.

Like the other night Givens' boss is leading the search for a man named Packer and calls him "Pecker" until Givens corrects him. Such a throwaway line but it had me grinning from ear to ear.

SEASON FINALE SPOILER ALERT: Raylan Givens is a sled.

I had zero expectations for this show and it has definitely delivered. And I totally agree that the writing is pretty sharp, but you definitely have to be paying attention as some of the humor slips past quick.

Wow, what a season ending finale!
Spoiler:
Winona wanting Raylan after dumping her husband, Ava kidnapped, Raylan shooting his dad (who is such a sorry assed fellow), Bo dead, and Boyd and Raylan friend/allies.
That brought an end to a lot of this year's intertwined stories so it will be interesting what stories they start next year. Just a great show. There hasn't been a bad or boring episode all year.

I really enjoyed the first season. The ending was great. I thought the acting was really good. Deadwood good.

Spoiler:
I really liked Boyd's transformation. I thought Goggins did an excellent job playing a vigilante preacher and loved his interaction with his daddy.

Just watched the finale.

Spoiler:
Everybody Dies.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

Spoiler:
Goggins took a character I thought was pointless and made him my 2nd favorite character in that show. Fantastic work on his part. I was surprised to find out that he wasn't just playing a long con last night. The scene in which he breaks down after the massacre of his camp was the nail in the coffin of that theory. Another character that became a favorite was Arlo. Good lord that man is both despicable AND likable at the same time.

Overall, a great new show that I can't wait to dive into again next season.

I heard an interview with the actor playing Boyd on NPR the other day. He said the Boyd was originally killed in the pilot but after seeing the pilot everyone realized he was a character they needed to keep so they went back and reshot the ending.

I've actually really enjoyed this series. The writing and dialogue is great, and characters are enjoyable. I'm a bit behind about, but been following it via hulu.

Outside of raylan, I really think that boyd has been a great character and very convincing presence. I mean you seriously believe him when he's on screen. The other one who carries the same presence was "duffy" or huffy or something, but he was the bad guy in the real estate problem the ex-wife husband was in. Kind of the main baddie there (not the boss, but the the one in charge of the operation).

I really have to think that elmore leonard has his hands in the dialogue and story construction. They are very very reminiscent of his writing style in his books. Each episode is really well done. Definitely has been a joy to watch and cant wait for it come back.
Oh my gravy.....

My dad lives in Gastonia, which is also known as the redneck capital of North Carolina. One thing I love about the show is how authentic the characters seem by comparison. Go to one of my dad's cookouts and you are guaranteed to run into a few Boyds. When the more rural characters in Justified are on screen, I feel right at home, like I'm at dad's house talking to his white supremacist meth lab neighbors.

While Raylon and Boyd are the best characters, I don't think there are any bad characters. Well, the female Marshal who was paired with the kid from Eurotrip wasn't that good but when was the last time we saw here? I like the kid from Eurotrip a lot in this.

Even the bit part characters are, in general, quite good. The Sheriff who put Bo Crowder away was quite good. I agree with Hepcat on Arlo. Very well acted and someone you like and hate at the same time.

The only complaints I have are:

- Saying "justified" too many times in the 1st episode.
- Slo-mo shot of Raylon at the end.
This area reserved for single quote that sums up my entire life experience, hopes, dreams, fears, desires, and loves as well as being deep and meaningful or a poop joke.

He was also in Life as Charlie Crews former partner and was quite good in that role as well.

I also thought Boyd was full of it considering he had been collecting weapons.

Finally got to watch the finale on Hulu and I have to say... wow! Awesome show! Olyphant is great as Raylan Givens ( and I think hes my pick for Roland in the Dark Tower movie now ) and I have to agree that Boyd is a fantastic character.
Spoiler:
They played it so well with him always on the edge of showing himelf a fraud. Until the last episode I never doubted he was running a long con. He should get an emmy for best supporting for that role.
That was probably the best season finale on tv this year. Hopefully they get a full 22 episodes next year.
Well do you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense?

Spoiler:
I thought it was especially awesome that we got to find out that Boyd's dad was a much better father than Raylan's. I was actually shocked by that. Here I was thinking he had been too hard on the man, and it turns out that he wasn't hard enough on him.

It's been clear from the beginning Raylan's dad wasn't crap for a father. Meanwhile, Boyd's dad was always actively involved in Boyd's life. Big difference seeing as Raylan's father wanted nothing to do with Raylan, ever. At least that is the way the show was presented.

Really looking forward to it, I thought the first season was fantastic. The 1st season is out on bluray and dvd as well. May have to refresh my memory before season 2 starts.

Good lord, what a great start to the 2nd season.

Spoiler:
I REALLY hope they keep Mags around. She's a fantastic villain. You start to like her, feel that she's just misunderstood and really a lovable mother-type...then wham, she pulls the rug out from under the viewers. I highly doubt murdering the girl's father had any altruistic overtones. She saw a kid who was a natural for her "business" and wanted her in the clan. I think she gathered the rest of that murderous group under her wing in a similar fashion.

Speaking of which, I really enjoyed seeing Jeremy Davies back on a tv show. IMHO, he's one of those great character actors who bring depth to just about any character.

I'm also happy to see that Boyd is apparently still going to be a part of the show. They have to keep him around.

Best line of the night goes to Raylan, of course.

For some reason my DVR taped the replay of last season and not the first of this one. Fortunately I was actually watching the first of this season so was not impacted by missing it as it was amazing but this issue must be fixed soon or heads will roll (probably mine as I bang it repeatedly into a wall).
