Well do you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense?
Or that everybody's on the stage and it seems like you're the only person sitting in the audience?

Re: [WW] The Princess Bride - Day 8

Postby Qantaga » Thu Sep 15, 2011 2:44 pm

You awake to a bright and glorious dawn. You don't feel exactly bright and glorious yourself, but the absence of a death the night before finds you hopeful for the same result this morning.

You step out into the day, feeling the anxiety of not knowing if you will find everyone alive this morning.

You make your way to the Inn. Two of your fellows are there already and coffee is brewing. You grab a cup. Instead of going outside, as is your normal habit, you grab a seat at a table near the door and settle down to wait as you sip your coffee.

Minutes later, two more come walking in. They grab their own cups and sit at a table nearby.

Soon, you hear a noise from the back and see someone walking in the back door, arms full of firewood. (You cringe inwardly as you remember the last time you saw firewood).

Time passes. You notice that your cup is empty, although you have no recollection of actually drinking your coffee.

You get up and pour a new cup, dread beginning to settle on your heart.

You walk outside.

Where should you start? You close your eyes and try to calm your racing mind. After a moment, you feel a slight tug, drawing you toward a large garden near the edge of the village. As you get there, you don't see anything out of the ordinary. You walk the rows, looking for any hint as to why you felt called here. You start to hope that there is nothing here and turn to make your way back to the village.

You take a few steps and stop suddenly when you see what you should have noticed immediately.

There are two scarecrows, where there should only be one.

You walk toward the one that shouldn't be there, already knowing what you will find. Sure enough, hanging there, mouth stuffed with straw, is a clearly dead body.

pr0ner is dead.

You don't bother to untie him (you'll get some help for that later) because you see the smudge gathering around his left ankle. You hope for the new word, but you are not surprised at all when the runes form that other word that tears at your heart.

The word is Villager

Yeah, that's pretty much the least surprising night kill ever. Where's your creativity, Team Evil??

In positive news, there's still no sign of pirates ahoy. (Not just the lack of an extra kill, but I've received no notification).

I suppose coopasonic is on the chopping block. I've previously pegged RMC as "unlikely", but I'll have to go back and check.

coop has been pretty active, especially the last few days. RMC seems to have gone into hiding.

I'm still leaning coopasonic, but dang... I was wrong about both El Guapo and rhsetts2, coop was only my third choice after my re-read. Maybe I'm just plain wrong.

I'm still in denial about Lassr - if he's evil, he's got me fooled.

It could be, if it wasn't just resignation. We'll know tomorrow morning either way. We're 4 vs 2.

17. Lagom Lite - Booer
6. Mr. Bubbles - Buttercup
14. El Guapo - Westley

3. Lassr - lonely pirate
10. coopasonic
20. RMC

Ignoring the unlikely situations, one of these three is original evil and another is converted. I'm tempted to go with Lagom on the converted Lassr and RMC as the very quiet Count. Leaving me as the lonely unpowered villager, which is convenient because that is what I am.

===============

The other option is a converted Lagom, but based on the way things went, in hindsight, it seems like Evil left him alive hoping we would lynch him then gave up and tried to lynch him the night tru1cy died. pr0ner ruined that plan and they had the cover of the tru1cy kill.

tru1cy wrote:i'm considering scanning El Guapo, rshetts2 or pr0ner... Been thinking about Mr.Bubbles too

The BS story was they were scared tru1cy would kill the Count that night, but obviously in hindsight the count isn't in that list. Who's threw that theory out there? Unagi. I have to conclude Lagom must be good.

===============

Go ahead and do a post search, find where RMC has helped us out. The awesome part is if you search for RMC posts in this forum and see just how much he posted on the league game while keeping quiet here.

well Count Coop? Did you convert and now know it's the last day? Funny how I had jokingly called you count several days ago. Funny if it's true.

If no conversion then it would be 3-1 tomorrow with a miss today. With conversion then 2-2 if miss today.

Re: [WW] The Princess Bride - Day 8

Hello all.. Sorry I have not been active, but I am just a villager.

I have posted thought when I saw them, but I can not post from work..It blocks this topic as a game, imagine that.

I guess my silence makes me look evil, but I am not. I have tried to look for patterns and pointed them out when I saw them. I pointed out the westly and buttercup thing, that no one bothered to read, long before you guys came up with it.

I don't really have any defense other than I am not on team evil. But if the list is really down to me and coop as the lone non role claimers, then I am going to have to say that coop is the count. And if I am wrong, then well played team evil, as this will make the rest of everyone come after me. But we should have 2 misses, right?

If we kill the count with this lynch, does the spawn get a kill order? that would give us one more night if the spawn does not get one.

Question : Does the spawn get a kill order if all other evil is dead?

But, since I am a villager, and there is only one other option for the count:

 Coopasonic

But to prove I at least did point out something before everyone else, so have been trying to contribute, not that this clears me, but it's something: Read the bolded big part below:

RMC wrote:
rshetts2 wrote:We definitely need Fezzik to come clean at this point. Its late enough now that the information gained is far too important.
Theres a trend to think Im evil but its all based on conjecture and nothing Ive done has been evil. Like every thing in this game, even the good can be spun to seem evil. For example, Stessier has been one of my top targets since almost the beginning. That can be spun into an evil act of buying cover. I wont waste my time arguing my alignment, Im good, my actions when looked at without bias should bear that out.
While I have been very suspicious of PrOner, its only because HE HAS NEVER CLAIMED FEZZIK! He was handed the role, by Remus, due to a innocuous comment that anyone one might have made. He may very well be Fez but to me anyway, it seemed he was playing us, especially with the attitude he took. At this point though it seems pretty likely, he is. Add in the fact that, of all of us, Fezzik is un-convertable and it makes PrOner look like a safe bet.

Mr. Bubbles reveal came after we nailed Humperdink and unless Qantana allowed the conversion choice to take place after the lynch write up ( Qan is it allowable by rule, for the conversion choice to be made after the write up of Humperdinks death? ) the chances he was converted are the same as everyones... Im thinking hes good.

If Fez reveals and gives us his protection info those of us who are good can build a very solid voting block. If fact if PrOner if Fez and he give up his prot target and Mr Bubbles is trustworty, that give a good villager 4 people he trusts ( including himself ) out of 5 needed votes. We are on the verge of winning this thing guys.

Im neutral on Coop, havent seen much to convince me hes evil but with the conversion, who know?

El Guapo and Lassr have both been active but Im a bit more suspicious of them. Still they are more likely to be good IMHO. which leaves me the RMC and Lagom Lite

RMC seems to be hiding in the shadows and only appears when someone notices that he really isnt contributing. Perfect evil cover, especially now when things are getting hairy

LL is a very likely conversion target, as he revealed early His argument that Mr. Bubbles could be buying trust applies quite well to him. Unagi had several people poking at him. Give him up, prove your role and then hide in plain sight. If LL was converted then Humperdink was no more valuable than any other evil one and his sacrifice would by LL some serious cover.

Thats my take on everyone, at this point Id be willing to vote for either Lagom Lite or RMC pending Fez's information drop

I haven't been contributing because there has not been any information that I felt was good enough to contribute with. Now that two evils have been unveiled I think we all need to go back and look at the interactions and voting history everyone has on these guys.

Also, Mr. Bubbles should have been scanned by Westley last night if he is still alive. So Mr. Bubbles should confirm weather Westley is still alive, this will give us one more known for a possible good guy. Who could have been converted as well as the rest of us.

Question - If Buttercup is converted and westley scans her, will westley know if she is good or evil? I am guessing not, as he just tells her if he is alive or not.

I think that your argument is flimsy that you want us all to take that you are good. Any of us could have been converted with the exception of Fez, who I am assuming is still around since there was no kill last night.

So what roles are still out there:

Team Good:
Alive:
Fezzik - Everyone assumes Pr0ner
Buttercup - Mr. Bubbles
The Ancient Booer - LL
Unknown:
Westley - ?
Miracle Max - Assumed dead as no one has been rezed and no discussion about it
Dead:
Inigo Montoya - Tru1cy(assume) - Dead

Team Evil:
Alive:
Count Tyrone Rugen - Anyone below
Unknown:
The spawn of Humperdink - Anyone, except Fez
Dead:
Prince Humperdinck - Unagi
Vizzini - Stessier

Team Pirate
Unknown:
Dread Pirate Roberts -
Pirates (2) -

So who is left to be the town and the unknowns:

3. Lassr
10. coopasonic
14. El Guapo
19. rshetts2
20. RMC

So There could be up to 3 pirates in just these 5, I doubt it but it could happen. With out Westly we don't know if they activate, unless we get 2 kills. Also there are up to 2 evils in this list and Westly and/or Max. Wow, so we have a jumble going on in the last 5 players and unclaimed roles. Anyone above (with the exceptions noted) could also be the Spawn, so having a known role does not help with proving anyone except whomever is Fez.

Mr. Bubbles could still have been converted, even though I don't think it makes any sense if he was for him to reveal a team evil person, but it could be a brilliant place for the spawn to hide. Giving up someone who we think was Viz, but was actually Rugen?? Rugen served his role by killing Inigo. I am not saying this happened as it would have been very good luck by team evil, but it could have happened, so we need to be on guard about giving anyone carte' blanch as verified good. Also, this would explain the mixing up or double scan that Mr. Bubbles had, as his new comrades told him who to kill, and he did not find Viz at all with a scan... Again, this is only possible, not probable.

So for scoring purposes:
8 players left
2 evil - Rugen and a spawn of humperdink
3 pirates - most likely some of them have been killed as villagers. And if the dread pirate and Ryan have both been lynched/killed they would be revealed in death as villagers so no way to know.

So ~5 good and 2 evil (again unless the pirates just found each other last night <shrug>)

So if Fez comes out and announces who he protected. We will have 2 provens for a single night, because team evil will have a clear shot at whomever was protected last night. But I think this is the best play, as this will narrow down the who's who for Rugen anyway. The spawn could be any of us, so that is a different matter entirely. The only hang-up is if Fez self protected last night, then it means we only have one proven, and it sucks as he will not be able to self protect again....

So let me reread some, but I have to put the kids to bed and study for a test so not sure if I will be back to do that until Tuesday.

I did point out that it would not clear me. Does anyone think that no villagers made it through to the end? And if Coop is the count, then what are the odds that I was converted, when I have been pinging almost everyone's radar at different times, but little 'ole Lassr has been sitting around. I know if I was on team evil, I would choose Lassr over me any day of the week. <shrug>

Sorry Lassr, if coop is the count, then I am guessing it is you that is the convert, if there is even a convert. <shrug> But let's get the count first and then look for the spawn. :)

I think by spawn, you mean a player converted by evil. If so, then the answer is yes. Should a player be converted by evil, they become a full member of the evil team and inherit the kill order, even if the original evil players are all dead.

Ah well, worth a shot to see if they did not get a kill order.

Thanks.

And I might be wrong, but I am not on team evil. I think Coop is the count, as if myself and him are the only two left without any claims, it has to be one of the two of us. And I am not on team evil.

Yes, yes. Very clever. :)

I totally see Lassr + RMC unfortunately.

really, so you don't think it's a slip?

So what say you, Bubbles and Guapo? coop + Lassr or RMC + Lassr? ;)

The following post was made by coopasonic on the day I outed Unagi. Unagi posts right after, voting for me. It proves TO ME (not to you) that there IS a convert, since pr0ner did protect me that day. With coops clarification, Unagi knew I couldn't be converted:

That's the crux of it and it all hinges on this:
Lagom Lite wrote:Baddies, what were you thinking keeping me alive? Why take such an enormous risk? /boggle

Either evil intentionally let Lagom live taking enormous risk (or no risk) or they tried to get him last night and he was protected. The good news is if he was protected last night he can't be converted today as fezzik's protection is for a night and following day. I think it would make sense for Fezzik to answer this, evil already knows if it was the latter. It would be nice for the rest of us to know. The downside is we out the protector and evil knows if Lagom will be unprotected tonight. I'm not really worried about Lagom, if he's telling the truth he has served his purpose. Outing the protector is the main concern. It's his call.

As it stands we likely have one miss to give. If we miss on Unagi we have Lagom dead to rights. If we miss on Lagom we have Unagi dead to rights. I think any vote that isn't on one of them is a mistake.

I'm leaning towards voting Unagi, but if we can know Lagom was protected last night I think that seals it.

The day stessier was lynched:

Not exactly a cheerful vote.

...

There's an early/mid-game scuffle between RMC and Unagi. It might be just for show.

...

Still leaning coopasonic + Lassr.

I have to be honest. I keep reading this over and I keep thinking Lagom. The amount of effort you put in recently makes me suspicious. Maybe it's your history, or maybe it's just me I don't know, but I'm being particularly cautious right now.

What evil is doing right now is bold. I am not a smooth tongued devil and I can't find any facts that scream Coop is innocent or RMC is evil, but I know the former is true which makes the latter pretty damn likely unless there is a grand conspiracy or Lassr is an evil genius. Evil RMC has done a beautiful job of staying under the radar and staying out of the sticky things.

They already have their two votes on me, they only need 2 of the good guys to go along.

Obviously I don't like that Lagom is leaning towards me, but everything fits to Lagom still being good. The night tru1cy died, evil tried to take out Lagom and failed. There was no reason to use the Prince's night kill on tru1cy as his potential targets were all people that we know weren't the Count.

tru1cy wrote:i'm considering scanning El Guapo, rshetts2 or pr0ner... Been thinking about Mr.Bubbles too

Westley, villager, Fezzik, Buttercup. He sure had an eye for specials though didn't he?

Evil tried to kill Lagom and failed due to protection and that same protection would keep Lagom from being converted up until Unagi's death.

I'm putting in effort because I want to win this game. Call it a sprint.

You certainly has developed a fixation on me... I'm good though.

I... want to vote, but don't know if I dare. I could put coop at n-1.

*taps fingers*

Lassr is already on the vote. I don't think Bubs or Guapo is a convert.

Should be safe.

n-1

It's up to you guys. If both Guapo and Scoop switches to RMC, I'll follow suit - but my guess is coopasonic.

(no pressure)

you seemed sure it wasn't. It was like you were building a case against Coop then just went RMC is your man.

I wasn't sure, and I wasn't "building a case". I just don't know who's evil.

hmmm...

if you are converted did you just tack your vote on an innocent or realized you needed to get a vote on your partner.

I'll leave my vote as I also do not think El Guapo or Bubs are converted so they should think this through. As all the ones that have voted so far cannot be 100% trusted.
