Pretty sure you do that from the Load screen, there should be a button noted that deletes the currently highlighted save.

And I do believe it's in the bottom left corner, with the same old [ENTER]/Yes confirmation combo we see all the time... I've deleted tons of games. I think my save numbers are up to 160 or 170something...

Just started with the Blades. Didn't check out the quest that turned you guys off. Curious to see what happens with them now.

And definitely agree - dragons are annoying... more fun dealing with the factions and all.

What's really fun is to be attacked by a dragon when you are attacking a giant's camp.
Fortunately I've only had that happen once when it was late in the game and I was heavily armed and armored.

Yes he is. Does it get worse after the first 10 seconds? 'Cause that is all I could take...

It gets worse. At about 5:50 he explains why one should kill kids in the game.

Yeah, and have you heard about that murder simulator called Modern Warfare 2? It explains why one should shoot up airports.

Either that, or you guys need to consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, that video is satire.

I briefly considered it. But it was so relentlessly un-amusing that I dismissed that as statistically unlikely.

I actually just left the vampire nest, so I might have time to cure it before I really change. If not, I might revert, because I don't want to mess with it right now.

Anyway during "Alduin's Bane":

Spoiler:
For some reason he was "stuck" in the sky in a sitting position. It seems to randomly happen when you load a save game from within the big fight. I'm also not quite sure why the Dragon Shout seems to take like 100% more time to recharge during this battle, but it's making the fight nearly impossible as the only way to hurt him is to knock him out of flight first with Dragonrend. Then when he finally lands, I can get maybe one shot in on him before he's flying again. At this rate, it's going to take me 60+ minutes to kill him, particularly when he is doing slow lazy loops around the summit. I am pretty sure he's attacking Shadowmere who's been a constant thorn in my side since completing the Dark Brotherhood quests.

I'm also pretty sure the AI is cheating. If I have an amulet or ring on that protects against a specific breath attack (fire or ice), he attacks me with the exact opposite. For my ranged sneaky bow attack character, this fight is unpossible.

I'm seriously considering dropping the difficulty because it's bordering on stupid-hard. I expect the boss fights to be a bit more difficult, but this is ridiculous.

Yeah, I got the dinner call and saved in mid battle and when I reloaded - well cheshier cat comes to mind. I got some earlier saves but that was a long cut scene just before that battle I would like to avoid.

Ah satire...the defense that keeps on giving. Sadly, applying it willy nilly eventually waters it down to the point that it stops being effective when used in defense of actual satire...you know, that thing that uses wit to make a point?

I finally fired up the game today and noticed the ingame volume seems very low (esp. voices) even with the sliders maxed. Googling reveals this to be a common issue. A few fixes mentioned are too edit the Skyrimprefs.ini file to boost the fAudiomastervolume setting or possibly changing your Windows speaker settings to 5.1. Others say these fixes don't work or will screw up the soundmixing further.

What's the preferred fix for the low volume issue, or what worked best for you? I'm still running Win XP with 2.1 speakers and a Creative X-fi soundcard.

While it may screw things up, there's no need to be afraid of screwing things up. Make a backup of the file and tweak to your heart's content. If things go pear-shaped, restore the old file and either try again or attack it from a different angle.

Ok, so changing my speaker settings in Windows to 5.1 (despite actually having a 2.1 setup) increased dialogue volume to a proper level, but since I have no actual center channel, looking right at someone would cause their voice to drop out. So that's no good.

I changed that fAudioMasterVolume setting from 1.0000 to 4.0000 and that maybe helped a little (could be placebo effect). I then turned my master Windows volume setting from about 90% to 100% on the slider and also turned on subtitles in the game to give my ear an assist. That seems to make the game playable enough, as I would prefer not to fiddle with my physical speaker volume every time I play if I can help it.

This kind of stuff happens when game developers only consider 5.1 setups and forget that people actually use stereo setups as well. It's just as annoying every time a game is released that does this, and it happens surprisingly often.

I played a game recently (Titan Quest:IT) that gave sound options for headphones (made everything too soft) and quad speakers, but not stereo speakers. The quad setting actually sounded fine but it also set my Windows speaker setting to quad as well, so I had to change that back after every game to avoid weirdness with other programs. Bleh.

Anyway, I made my changes above and nudged my physical speaker volume knob up a little, and now it's good enough. Now I can obsess over the next thing, like who I should have followed in the opening sequence.
Spoiler:
I followed the Imperial guy since he was being decent to me and happened to be right in front of me as the dragon started to zero in on us. I'm a dark elf and it appears the Stormcloaks don't care for my kind, so I guess it's a decent way to start. I would like to go back to that now-ruined village later and take revenge on a few more Imperials, though. I already took the opportunity to slay the torturer in the catacombs on the way out.

I'm enjoying the first few hours of the game so far, even if it feels like a Fallout mod and the interface is annoying. I really like the constellation motif for the perks, etc, despite the suboptimal display and navigation issues.

Just chase the ghostly headless horseman. Finally gave up after chasing him across the diameter of Skyrim.
A dragon was attack one village I went thru but I didn't stop. When I went back later on the dragon was still there having fun and so I killed it. The town guards then promptly attacked me. I guess it pissed them off that I didn't stop the first time. So I cleaned them all out too. Now I'm a wanted man all over the Jarl's territory.

Think that sometimes my arrows don't hit the mark cause I was attacked by the guards too during a dragon battle. Think one of them ended up killing the war maden in Whiterun, now the smithing shop is closed.

I'm at level 51 and reached a bunch of firsts. Since I started to do things out of my typical routine, I've seen the entertains side of Skyrim. By talking to people more I got into a drinking match, that was fun? I dumped a bunch of unwanted loot across the street for others to pick through which prompted people to ask permission first before taking the loot. Feel like I should addonemor. It can't think of another at the moment.

So just when I we getting bored the games wizardly wittiness of the developers comes through, to pull me back in. Just like others have written, this game is multi layered.

Finished it just shy of level 30. I actually leveled up just afterward while training in Light Armor. The ending. . .

Spoiler:
Was a bit anti-climactic. I teleport back to the Throat of the World and there is just a bunch of dragons flying about. I did not even get to speak with Parthanox. Maybe I'm missing something? I expected fanfare; maybe a parade or something.

I completed Dark Brotherhood and the main quest. I might make a 2 Hander Orc and do a Companions quest/main/something. I did not craft last time - just went Sneak (93), Bow (82), Light Armor (58), 1H (48). So a Heavy Armor guy with blacksmithing might be fun.

I saw a funny battle between a giant, a dragon and a group of bad guys today. The dragon and giant had started to fight each other, until the foolish archers shot at them.

I got to witness the giant "thump" happen to somebody other than me. Two unfortunate bad guys, actually. I did not see them land. I think they are floating around in orbit somewhere. I watched the ones the dragon picked up land. He didn't feel the need for overkill like the giant did.

I was going to just hide from the giant after the dragon died, but he spotted me. Probably shouldn't be wearing bright orange armor if I am trying to hide in the bushes. I hid under a shed and shot him with about a hundred arrows. Luckily the shed was built out of unobtainium or somesuch.

Well, it was lucky for me. Now I have a lucky Giant's Toe. Or rather an unlucky giant's toe.

The Orc has a great natural ability. However, I found out that the tanks have weakness's to magic. That's why I like to go with the Nord for that with the 40% resistance to cold. Which seems to be the most prevalent used. Then go for the Lord's Stone for the resistance to magic and physical damage. Then get the Otar mask for the three resistances it has. Find some rings/necklaces/armor with resistances for things like fire and you'll hardly notice the dragon's breath. Other than the smell I suppose.

I got Smithing and Enchanting to 100, and I must say the entire game just opens up.

I made a number of Rings and Necklaces that are all Double Enchanted.
Got a pair of "Fire and Ice" jewelry I wear for dragon battles, a "Sneak Theif" set for home invasions, a "Shock Mage" set, etc. (all my helmets now have Underwater Breathing...)

Also - once you learn the 'Banish' enchantment- putting those on a Dagger makes the dagger worth upwards of 1,000 gp. That started to open up my economy.

First I learned the "Soul Drain" enchantment and put that on a bow.
Then I bought up / raided/ / stole every Petty Soul Gem (and some Lessers) I could. Spent a lot of time "hunting" just to fill those Soul Gems.

Get smithing to 100 making Iron Daggers.
Save ALL the daggers.
Use them to grind through Enchanting.

I didn't start 'grinding' Enchanting until I had 'Disenchanted' a ton of things and had almost everything available for enchantments. This was where I learned that the Banish Enchantment makes the biggest Gain in value for the item.

Grind Enchanting with the Petty Soul Gems and the Daggers and Banish (make it the least charges - highest power Banish)...

Also - it helps to get the Perk where you can "sell anything to anyone" - which then lets you use "Banish Daggers" to buy everything from now on.

Are you trained in 1 handed weapons? The weapon damage displayed for any given weapon is adjusted based on your skill.
