I watched the first one last night. It had the usual roughness of a pilot but it wasn't bad. It could turn out to be pretty good if they can build a decent mythology and improve some of the line delivery, especially on the comedic bits.

I watched S1/E1 last night and started in on E2 before noticing the time and realizing I needed to go to bed. I liked it a lot. Seems like it will be a little campy but fun. I can see it being a big guilty pleasure. I have E2 and 3 on DVR so will watch them and E4 is set to tape next Monday. Absolutely enthralled by the eyes of the "sidekick" actress.

She's in E3 way more and her eyes are indeed out of control. Also, this week's Fey creature took me back to old school - mid 80s AD&D. If invoking nostalgia is part of their plan, it's working.

Or mid 80s AD&D made for TV Movies.

It's still being TiVo'd but I'm not sure it will make the cut. I can't tell if it's my mood or the show right now, so it's still getting a chance.

I'm enjoying it, but if my TV time was filled with tons of other shows right now, I could easily see me dropping it. Another good scheduling decision by SyFy I guess -- I remember thinking the same things about Warehouse 13 and Eureka. This show has held my interest more than Terra Nova and Alcatraz, so that's something.

I agree the acting is a little rough and the production values have been a lacking, but I think it has a lot of potential. My wife actually likes the show better than I do. It may have something to do with that werewolf character, but that's ok, I'm waiting for the lesbian action. But we are both big Buffy fans, so hot supernatural chicks are cool by us. Maybe Joss Whedon can come in and help the scripts a little.

I have Alcatraz taped, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. However, I do love Terra Nova. Probably my favorite of the new shows. The leader of Terra Nova makes the series.

I've got Alcatraz in "record now, watch someday" mode. I'm actively watching Lost Girl and continuing to enjoy it. Although this week I confused it with "New Girl" on my DVR - that was a bit of a shock.

Damn it. I think I fell in love when she did the little happy dance after seeing Dyson in the bathroom and then for some reason my DVR - which said it had the full hour taped suddenly decided it only taped 12 friggin minutes of the show and quit.

Anyone know where to find full episodes online? The shows main page doesn't have them and they are not available from Amazon. Are they out on DVD in Canada?

The show's Canadian Website has all of them, although I would find it delightfully perverse if you Americans had to suffer from the reverse of the region-blocking that makes so many American web video services completely useless to us Canadians. :)

Wow -- that's the first time I've seen that! They are hosting the episode, but I was advised that I cannot because of my country of origin.

I would be amazed if SyFy isn't airing it again between now and Monday.

Muahahaha.

Now -- I'll trade you access to Lost Girl for, say, being able access all of Hulu or a version of Netflix that doesn't manage to both suck and blow at the same time. Deal?

- Ash

PS> More seriously, I'm sorry it doesn't work. That said, while I'm not too surprised that it doesn't, I would be very surprised if they have anything like Hulu's anti-proxy setup in place, so if you really want to see it, it might be worth trying that route. And hey, if that works, there's no reason you can't keep going and watch the rest of the first two seasons...

Being a hockey fan, I already knew this "reverse" region blocking exists - no CBC or TSN online broadcasts available via the internet in the US of A. Discovered this years ago when trying to find hockey games online before atdhe fixed the issue.

I set the DVR to grab any episode aired so it should grab it but I must remember to double check so I don't miss it.

edit: also, I've been able to find hockey games. I'll have to double check my bookmarks at home and if I can point you somewhere helpful (they may just be Red Wing sites and I doubt you'd be interested in those. )

More on topic, I just watched this week's episode and I remain firmly hooked. It's a little cheesy at times, but overall the characters are interesting, the acting's decent, and the fae monsters-of-the-week are consistently fun.

We are both region 1 so there should be no issues playing them. And if you're unable to find a way, I'd happily be your Canadian source. Let me know if you still don't have a source come March and we can work out the details.

I'll reiterate that I'm not claiming Lost Girl is the greatest thing since sliced bread. (If you could only watch one TV series, I could give you a few I'd watch ahead of this, including Game of Thrones) But I am really happy to see a Canadian production doing well for itself and it is a fun show.

Fun is the selling point for me. I still watch Supernatural each week and this show reminds me a little of that. However, I like the change of pace from shows like Supernatural in that they don't spend 10 minutes showing the leads researching the villain of the week (not that I dislike that, it's just a nice change up is all). Hopefully, as the show goes on, we'll see an even more humorous side to the leads like we do with the brothers in Supernatural.

And like Remus, I can't get enough of wig chick. rowwr...

...yeah, "rowwr" struck me as creepy even as I was writing it.

I found out this piece of happy news:

SyFy picks up season 2 of Lost Girl

I'm really enjoying the show. The cast is starting to gel, the plots are more interesting and the low-budgetness doesn't bug as much. Also our friends to the North were kind enough to provide us with a complete season 2 so SyFy will be airing it right after season 1 ends in the US. Between this and the SyFy version of Being Human, I can almost forgive the SyFy channel for cancelling Caprica!

Wife and I enjoyed the first two so far. In fact, after the pilot she asked if we had another... so we watched that too. I'm just concerned that I may have missed an episode, as I tivo'ed the 3 episode marathon, and then we didn't watch for a few days before I actually setup the series recording. We picked up at least one more, but I'm not sure if it will be #4 or even later with a gap.

After reading this thread, I dvr'd the 3 episode marathon to watch with the wife. Not really sure what to expect, but we're both enjoying the ABC show "Once Upon a Time".

I'm telling her, there's fey creatures in there. Fey? Like fairies and elves and such. Oh. So the only fey creatures she thinks of are literally fairies and elves and other general cute/nice/fairer types.

Enter: Lost Girl - succubus, werewolf, will-o-wisp.

Wife's got no idea what most of these creatures are. Two episodes in, she's done. Too dark for her. Definitely, not even close to Once Upon a Time.

Me: still looks kinda interesting, will have to check out more.

Nah, we missed 4 (and can't watch the showcase.ca version of 4 due to region locking. I did find one site streaming it, but it looked sketchy), dvr started with 5. Loved Kenzi in ep 3 - teh wife and I were rolling at some of her lines. Bonus was the Dollyrots "Because I'm Awesome" in the sorority. That song cracks me up.

Are you talking about Dyson? The non-spoiler answer is yes, he gets better. But then he gets worse. :(

The spoiler answer?
Spoiler:
I think they initially want him to be animalistic and foreign which makes the actor stiff at first, but as the season progresses, he gets a better grasp of the character and it seems much better. Then something major happens to him between 1st and 2nd season, and now he's stiff again.

Funny you should mention Whedon. In an interview with Anna Silk ("Bo"), she said
"I love that this show has a strong female lead," she says. She brushed up on other female ass-kickers to gain inspiration -- from Sarah Michelle Gellar's fearless' Buffy' and Kate Beckinsale's steely Selene in 'Underworld.'

Just watched episode eight last night ("Vexed") and I was pretty impressed. They're doing a good job of working in the larger story elements back into the series...for a few weeks there it was very monster-of-the-week focused...which was fine, but I'm glad they're back to filling in some of the blanks with the bigger story.

She's still ridiculous and I have given up trying to figure out what Kenzi's natural hair is.

Heh, I knew that cool looking weapon reminded me of something. I also liked the Witchblade TV series and it was unfortunate that the lead actress had a drinking problem which led to the shows early demise.

I also still like the show, the supporting cast is stepping up rather nicely and this week's episode had more of the mysterious season story arc in it. But as much as I like our plucky Succubus she needs an episode or two where she's taught some humility by the fae powers that be for some good character development.
