Velvet Assassin is only $1.24 during this sale. I paid something like five bucks for it last May, and while it wasn't perfect, I had a great time with it, and actually enjoyed playing it through to the finish.

However, it should be noted that the Amazon d/l version cannot be activated through Steam. In fact, it comes with no DRM or activation whatsoever, not even Amazon's activation wrapper. You get the whole game. Which was ideal for me, but apparently a few people in the comments section are complaining about not being able to add it to their Steam library. So I mention this in case you are concerned about that.

Anyway, my version, purchased and downloaded last May through Amazon, downloaded and installed very quickly (about a half-hour or 40 minutes for over 4 gigs) and without a hitch. YMMV, as I seem to be the only guy I know for whom Amazon has been the fastest d/l distributor of them all. I've also never had a problem with any of their downloads. But that may be just dumb luck, since I've read otherwise elsewhere.

Is red faction arm worth $5? I loved the first one and liked the second one. Guerrilla was ok but after two different attempts I never got close to finishing it. Just didn't grab me. But Armageddon looks like it has a story to it and a good lead character.

EDIT: Went ahead and got it. Figure $5 is nothing, good or not. It should be fun from what I've seen. I grabbed the cd key and used it in Steam. So Im downloading it in Steam so I'll always have it there.

I enjoyed Armageddon... mostly. There are a few fights that are extremely tough. And if you fail, you have to start over. I stopped at the last fight, or close to it. After a handful of tries, I pretty much just walked away. I know I have to go back again to try and finish it, but what a pain.

What I will say is don't discount their version of the gravity gun. I didn't start using it until much later in the game because I didn't think it was that great. I was wrong. It's wicked fun.

I'm having a lot of those hard annoying fights in Warhammer Space marine right now. I try a few times then just shut it down and walk away and try again another day.

I'm, finding that I only use the gravity gun unless Im in a tight spot. it's so satisfying to anchor a bug then tag a wall or ceiling and watch them go splat. Ever better if I tag one then tag a second one and watch them kamikaze each other in the air.Sometimes Ill miss and grab something else in the room but it still works because a ton of scrap flying through the air to hit them is just as deadly :) Having a LOT of fun.

Yeah. Can't believe how long it took me to try it out.

Towards the end I would have a blast throwing things at the mobs, and then rebuilding the area to throw all over again. :D

NFS: The Run for $24 is pretty good, but not quite enough for me to bite just yet.

Armageddon is a mediocre 3rd person linear shooter with some decent destructible terrain. IMHO it's got nothing on Guerrilla.

They also do something mean in the story:
Spoiler:
They kill off a hot chick!
