He will be fine on plat. Right now he is repeatedly running Cathedral of Flames making 7-8 plat a run and just got a ruby drop. We usually play Monday starting about 6ish and Tue and Thur starting at 9ish. (all times are central)

Yeah don't worry about me getting plat. I'm really poor now (literally about 12 gold) but have all of my crafting materials I need for my last armor. So it is just a few more runs in CoF, a trip to get some vabbian armor, and those minis to finish everything I need in GW1. Then I'll just be helping you guys out as I can, it is no fun if the whole team doesn't have toys too.

Vabian armor is in the hall! I've also even got a little money left over, thanks to getting a diamond while running CoF.

Congrats on the armor, Arcanis. I've been reading this thread and enjoying it vicariously, since I don't have much time for GW and not much motivation to play when I do- since I got my 30 HoM points sometime last year.

I did log in the other day just to check on a couple birthday presents- I got a purple ooze which looks pretty cool, but nothing else really remarkable. I think I get a couple more presents next month too. I'll have to see if I can go in game sometime and get a list of minis I'm willing to give up for those who need them. I'm not sure if I've got anything else useful. The last thing I did when I was playing was buy 2 elite armor sets and 3 destroyer weapons, so I'm probably pretty broke at the moment.

Woot! Finally got past Aurora Glade :D I must have done that mission at least 10 times. Just kept running it and learning a little more each time, and got the bonus to boot! You should have seen my jaw drop when I found out there was still a boss to beat after the part I was struggling with so much. Luckily, I one shotted it. I think I still have 12 more missions to go in Prophecies!

I got to 43 Jadite Shards last night. Over 1/2 way there! If anyone wants to run the vanquish with us let us know. I would certainly appreciate it. We get about 11k faction a run. Maybe more and it takes about 30mins per run. It is great to do if you need to get befriending the Luxon quest.

Yeah baby!

Thanks to gwartok for the last minis that I needed. Anyone else needing to hit 30 in HoM let me know and I'll do what I can to help. Remember we only have until April before pre-orders so we need to get the HoM finished soon, it can't be much later than May or June for final release.

It's about time more of us hit the 30 mark. I was worried I'd be the only one with all the cool stuff. :) For the record, my path to 30.

And I'll share this, because I just found this in my picture folder again from back when I got all my armor:

OK... I think GW2 is worth coming out of hiding on these forums. I don't even remember the last time I posted on OO. Have I honestly become a lurker?

Anyway, have you guys been discussing how the OO guild is going to carry over to GW2 yet? Anyone talk to Ritt about what the Watchers are doing with GW2? Any plans to pull GamingTrend's eventual folks into the fold? The more people we can get into one group, the better. Everytime I log in to GW (which is hardly ever), I see my cheap little cape with that Octopus staring back at me and think about asking these questions, and finally am getting around to it now.

On that note, has ArenaNet posted anything about intact guilds making the crossover, and if there will be any perks associated with doing so?

They never mentioned carrying over the guilds from GW1. We haven't really discussed a new guild, but with each character able to join multiple guilds I don't see that being much of an issue. The bigger issue is getting things into our guild if it isn't the primary guild for most people, IIRC you need influence to gain items for your guild hall and influence is gained through pvp. Personally I'd love to have a guild of our own with open arms to the others, but as we saw in GW1 we had more people who hadn't logged in in a year or more than players who logged in in the last few months. And it happened in multiple guilds. So I'm not sure the best course of action concerning an OO guild yet.

Here is the official line on what Guilds will do: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild

I think it would be wonderful starting out. As time goes on though and interest wanes and people stop playing we will have a guild of names and no players once again. I am all for making a guild as soon as I find out how and have the resources. I would also be more than happy to have the guys from gaming trend in as well. I am going to contact Ritt and ask him what their plans are because I am sure he is more on top of it than I am. If it became an OO, GT, Watchers guild that would be spectacular. That way we would have PvP covered as well as people all over in PvE. Is there anyone still actively playing GW1 at GT?

I think it would be great to get as many folks together as possible for a game as potentially cool as GW2 where WvW and Tournament PvP are a big part of the whole. I'm certainly not trying to marry 3 different groups together though, and was just curious if it had been talked about.

I post quite infrequently at GT these days, and have become a tourist at the Wanderers site, so really have no clue if anyone's really given it much thought yet. Maybe when we get closer to release, the topic will carry more weight and we can all discuss it in earnest. I hadn't known about the multiple guilds thing until reading that link you posted. Interesting. Because I have friends in all 3 groups, it sounds great in theory... although one has to wonder if it will actually cause more fracturing in an indirect way. Who knows.

So I tried bringing my Monk into Factions with a whole bunch of EOTN heroes and it didn't go too well at the second mission. So instead I created a new Ranger and got up to level 13. Then I come into the city and find out that all the henchmen and mobs are level 20, which is a little odd. Even worse for my tiger, which is only a level 9.

Anyway, my internet connection got hosed somehow and I can't play without getting disconnected every 30 seconds. Verizon is sending me a new router, so I'll probably have to take a break for a day or two.

Oh, and Not Rich says he wants his guild back, whatever that means.

So I reinstalled after about 2 years to find my account hacked and my characters gone.

Anyone know of a way to check on my Hall of Monuments without having a higher level character? I have Eye of the North on my account, but I didn't see a way to get there.

I sent a request to Arenanet, but so far they have just 'escalated' the request.

You have to have a level 10 character in one of the first 3 games to jump into EOTN. After that it's like the second place you visit in the story.

To get the HoM open and start putting all your titles in there you have to have pretty much all the tapestries. and then have the stature placed for whichever character with the titles.

I had a ton of trophies on my deleted characters which is why I'm wondering if they are still there. I'm thinking they should not have been affected.

If you added the trophies they might still be listed. If you go a search for "hall of monuments reward calculator" it should be the first result. Then you type in one character's name and it will show you what you have already done.

Got through Abaddon's Mouth yesterday after a couple of tries, but couldn't get too far on Hell's Precipice because of those stupid flame imps (which are called something else this time, but basically the same thing) again. Hopefully I'll catch some people on to get help on that one. After that I moved on a little further with my Factions character.

Something that might help with the flame imps is having a ranger hero or someone with ranger secondary bring spirit of winter. It turns all elemental damage cold. I think all the titans and guys in that area take extra damage from cold.

So I've been trucking along, but bouncing around games a lot. I mixed up my hero skills a bit and was able to handle the fire imp things a bit better. However, once you get past the first couple of groups, there is this area where 3 or 4 groups of mobs are just quickly patrolling all over the place and I can't quite figure out how to pull one without pulling the whole entire thing on top of me (which obviously results in a wipe). I also don't understand why Vekk (who is responsible for an important anti-element charm) insists on running into the middle of the mobs and getting himself killed over and over.

So I went back to my Factions ranger and played that for a while. I'm level 18 or 19 and up to the 3rd non-tutorial mission.

Then I decided to fire up Nightfall because I'm impatient like that. I created a Dervish, which I like playing even more than the Ranger. IMHO they finally perfected the tutorial area in Nightfall - even though I knew about most everything, it was nice to see they gave you quests to learn everything from henchman movement to using collectors. I also like the Sunspear points mechaninc, although I'm fairly confident it just becomes a grind at some point :D. When do you run into Lightbringer points?

I see that it is double Sunspear/Lightbringer points this weekend, so I should probably spend time in Nightfall. At what point can you get upgraded armor for your heroes? I've been updating their weapons at least.

e only reason he would run into the mobs.

It does become a grind but you only need to get to level 10 for the title. It is a lot of points though. You get to lightbringer points later in the game.

Teggy wrote:At what point can you get upgraded armor for your heroes? I've been updating their weapons at least.

The hero armor gets upgraded as they level up. The way to get the elite hero armor you have to do glint's challenge and I am not sure of the other way. Also, if you put runes and insignias on them they will stay when their armor upgrades. There is no benefit to the heroes having elite armor other than statues in HoM and they look a little different.

The easiest way I have found is to vanquish areas. You can always run Cathedral of Flames in EOTN.
