Yes. That's right. Shoot Superman. That's how dangerous he is to us now. Even if the Joker is only a possibility, it ends the game.

Shoot me now and we're down two from team hero, with no new information to lynch by, resulting in a decent chance at hanging another hero today.

If we started at 12-5 and they avoid killing a protected hero, it would be 8-5 on Wednesday morning, with...2 more misses? 1 more miss if the Joker is in game and not lynched last.

If we started at 11-6, and they avoid killing a protected hero, it would be 7-6 on Wednesday morning. If the Joker is active and in-game, he would have to be the last Villain lynched or the badguys win.

Not a good play. Disastrous.

Lagom, seriously? Which team are you on?

We do not shoot Superman. The odds do not point that way, and if that happened to happen, oh well - sucks to be us. Sometimes a royal flush comes up when you're holding 4 aces, but you still gotta' play your aces.

I still think it's a bit silly to let Grund live based on his telling us it would be a bad move to lynch him. It's pretty easy to claim vague specialness in this game when there is a good chance you can claim role X without a counter claim, if even forced to come out. Of course he could be playing his fav role. . . .

Can we lynch Remus West?

We're heading toward the dry season and cooler weather. The mornings are cool, but we still have plenty of heat by 11:00AM. Of course I never thought I would hear myself say, "At least it's only 95 today." ;)

Well if you're not kidding you could not possibly be The Joker. (Do I Capitalize the "the" in your name?)

As I wrote this morning, as long as there is a night kill it's very unlikely that triggercut has been converted - yet. Therefore no, no shooting Supes - not today.

But triggercut, do you realize how incredibly dangerous you are? It's sort of unsettling how you completely dismiss the seppuku idea. If you get converted and we lack a Shooter/Lantern, it's bye-bye.

Also, I very much doubt we face 5 villains. Too many players for that, the number of hits must match the number of misses for a balanced game. I'd guess 4 villains is more likely (or even 3, given all the built-in obfuscations).

I'd be up for testing Remus btw. Or Grund.

We have a pool (well, duo) of trusted that the villains need to off at some point. While I'm going to remain ambiguous about my role for a little while longer (sorry about that), I'd like some clarity on the roles claimed. tru1cy does have a point.

Wow, you guys have been busy.

About the whole Trig / Unagi thing, I don't think there is really anything of substance there. I think Unagi is just pointing out all the possibliities in case the most unlikliest of scenarios does occur, he can then point to himself as the smartest guy in the room. I think we can all concede that Unagi is extremely smart and his scenario could happen. At the same time, it would be foolish to do anything about it at this stage of the game unless a lot more evidence rises to the surface to confirm it. So, therefore, in and of itself, I don't think the whole Unagi pointing out Trig has an extremely small chance of being evil, as confirming Unagi as evil. There may be other things that I'm not seeing, but this shouldn't be it by itself.

Austin, although I believe LL may be a bad guy, it is way too early to put him to the test again. The fact that you want to is leading me to believe that:

1. Either you have some information the rest of us doesn't
2. That you are evil and would love to have us lynch a good hero
3. Truly believe he is bad and the consequences be damned if you are wrong

You weren't on my radar before, but now... And if you are either WW or Dr. Fate, you may have tipped your hand to the bad guys. I only point this out here because if I picked up on it (not being the smartest guy in the room), so did a lot of others.
That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

I believe the underlying reason that most people aren't voting for him isn't really because of the totally mild claim to a role - more of a 'Keep him around until Day 3' mentality.

Austin wrote:It's pretty easy to claim vague specialness in this game when there is a good chance you can claim role X without a counter claim

Your statement doesn't make sense.
It's certainly easy to make a vague claim of specialness (Lagom's is the much better example of that) - but I don't know how that butts up against the condition of "when there is a good chance you can claim role X without a counter claim".

How do you figure there is a good chance you could claim role X without a counter claim.

If I were a bad guy, I don't think I would say "Dude, I can just claim HERO-X, I mean - there is a good chance I can claim that without a counter claim". How on earth would I know there is a good chance of no counter-claim.
I guess if we knew there were 5 Hero roles in play, and there was a menu of like 15 of them, we could say they have a 66% chance to just claim something uncontested... but I don't think we are loooking at numbers anything like that.

Grund.

And you must have totally missed the last game where he devilishly said specifically that he was "playing his favorite role" (while not actually playing much of the game, and everyone ringing their hands about lynching him).

We eventually did, and ZERK goes the Grundbegriff.

A lot to wrap my head around. I too think it is much ado about nothing with Unagi and "his" scenario when I mentioned it before he did. No one jumped on me about it. It is an event that has a very small chance of happening but could have a devastating affect on us (the Heroes before someone asks who is "us.") But the same with Mara Jade, it is something I don't think is worth dwelling on because if that scenario happened then just it's just bad damn luck for us and kudos to team evil.

I've been wondering the same thing about Isgrimnur. Silents hurt us in the long run. Issy is a good player, but at the same time, he is a crapshoot in the end game because there is never enough infomation on him. I'm willing to see where this leads...

Nope. However, there are people that have made some bad plays, and I have pointed those out on several occasions. The last was NC provoking the lynch vote on day 1 in this game. I've even conceeded that you are a good player and have decided that butting heads with you equals suicide. But I think Issy gets a little legitamacy with his win in the WW tourney, don't you think?

No, and I know you are a nice enough guy that you would likely do that in person too but it just reads as though you are trying to toss a compliment their way to get on their good side. Although I could just be reading it that way because I'm an asshole and am more likely to try to ruffle their feathers to get on their bad side so I can point out how wrong they are.

That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

The point is not whether anyone is actually a good player or not. The point is why include the comment at all? Particularly in the case where you believe everyone to be good.

The only relevant question is if it makes bb evil. Is sucking up evil? He includes the comment because he is (or is taking on the role of) a nice guy. You really are willing to argue about anything.

This is boring me. There are a lot of good players in this game. If you object to me pointing out that they are good players, then go ahead. If you think I'm trying to butter them up to fly under the radar, so what, that is your opinion. If that is enough for you to think I'm evil, then vote for me.
